Hi folks,
I remember a few months back I offered to record some stuff on my banjer for you to use in your soundtrack; well, I'm finally getting to it and I've recorded a few American trad. songs for you guys. I can record plenty more, just let me know what kind of stuff you want and I'll give it a shot. I can also play a few licks which could be useful as jingles for all those "mission accomplished"/"mission failed" moments in the game. I tried to include a bit more old timey frailing, but I can record plenty of stuff in three-finger if you like. It all depends on what you guys are looking for.
Fireball mail (three-finger)

So this is a Roy Acuff song, but I'm playing something that I based on Earl's arrangement. It isn't note-for-note like Earl's recording, but I tried to stick to his arrangement as closely as possible. It's a personal favorite of mine.
Chinese breakdown (frailing)

I based this one on a version in a songbook I've got, with a few personal touches. I tried to give the B part a more "fiddley" flavor to it.
Cluck Old Hen (frailing)

This one never gets old. It isn't based on any particular arrangement, I just play it by ear in Sawmill tuning. It's pretty fast-paced so it's pretty cool for an action tune.
Old Joe Clark (frailing)

Another classic.
Shady Grove (frailing)

"Shave and a haircut" (Scruggs)
http://www.mediafire.com/?ha49wk2o04u7uzr
This is the classic "Shave and a haircut, two bits" riff often used as an ending. Pretty neat as an in-game jingle.
Licks (scruggs)
http://www.mediafire.com/?bt036ycvn329bob
Here's a couple licks, played together, which make a pretty cool riff in the game.
Another lick (Scruggs)

Another lick, could be a jingle for any single event in-game.
Anyhow, let me know what you think If you think this could be useful or want me to record any more stuff, just say the word.
