Sound No Longer Works! Help!!!

Hi All,

I cannot understand what is wrong with M&B. All of a sudden, the sound (music and effects) no longer work! I was playing it earlier today and when I went back to play tonight, the sound is gone.

I have not made any changes to my system or the game in between sessions and sounds work on all my other games.

I checked to make sure that:

- My sound is not on mute (keyboard).
- My system settings for sounds are not on mute.
- disable_music = 0 in the rgl_config.txt file (this is the original setting).
- Settings for sounds in the options menu in M&B are not off or all the way to the left on the 2 sliders.

I have an XP system and the latest patch for the game (it was working with this patch until today).

Anybody have any ideas why my sound no longer works for only M&B? I love this game and cannot stand to play without sounds!!!

Are you recieving sound in other games\applications?

Make sure your not running any other program which could be interfering with the sound. If you have Windows Media player or similar open, try shutting it down before you run the game and see if that clears up the problem.

If that fails, try uninstalling, deleting the M&B folder and doing a full re-install.

Yes, the sound works on other games, just not M&B!!!

I did the full uninstall and re-install and the problem is still there.

I will try to look at MS Media Player, etc as you suggested, but they were not open (unless they are running in the background or something!)
