Remedius

Knight
Please please - if anyone can help

I have been playing Warband for some time now and my character was at last nearing the end of vanilla - that is - as far as I wanted to take the game. I had promised myself I would complete the game on vanilla before trying out some of the mods available.

Nearly before Calradia was united under Swadian rule - I decided to test a mod

I was delighted and rebelled in the idea of breathing new life into the game - terrific.

I enjoyed abt three in game days before I saved and loaded only to find Remedius II had become a blank slate!

WHAT!!? - I mean wth?

I had become 0 xp across the board I had lost all my lordly and masterwork equipment and also my 7000000 denars!  All gone in a flash.

I am distraught at the prospect of having voided 410 hrs of play to some glitch.

Not to name names or be unkind because I loved the mod but it was the 95 new units mod which replaces the troops.txt file.  I run 1.132 and it has given no problems for long time.

I appreciate it's a long shot asking here and I have made enquiries elsewhere including the mb repository where I downloaded it but you guys may know what to do and will probly get back to me quicker

I feel proper despondent and would welcome any advice - I should like my char back and to keep the mod if poss - but Rem II would take priority

Thanks

Did you back up your troop.txt files before you installed the mod?

If you did try replacing the new ones with those.

Um nope

Yeah - I know - sounds dumb but I thought I could always reinstall if things went wrong. Since then I tried the 81 new units mod and its version of the troops.txt file but that just crashes the game on startup.

I need to play again so I am considereng reinstalling but I dont know if my char is lost forever.

Try reinstalling but find your save game file and put it somewhere so when you reinstall you can start from where you left off (if it works)

Wait wait wait.
If you were only playing the mod for 3 in-game days then you should be able to revert to your Native module save games without needing to repeat too much. And then you could just replace the Mod's savegames with your native ones.
No big drama... Providing you didn't overwrite your native folder... and if you did that I'm not sure I want to help you.

Yep - I think your right

I did uninstall the game in order to get the original troops.txt file back. Uninstalling preserves save games and I am now trying to see if they are playable again.

It must be something to do with using an existing game cos it played fine for a while.
