consistently getting this error, I've followed every guide on here and been working on this for about two weeks.
  1. re-installed the game, re-installed windows
  2. everything is up to date
  3. added page file to all drives - this made it work well for one night
  4. ran in safe mode
  5. reduced to low graphics
  6. turned on vsync
  7. safe mode
  8. added the tdr reg
  9. deleted shader config from program data
  10. deleted C:users files
  11. tried using Process Lasso to give it all processing and memory priority
so after all that and no luck 1.5 worked on this pc with no issues - please help.

This crash is a GPU crash. Which is different from the other crashes that can be caused by gameplay actions. While we are still investigating the issue there is not a definite fix that we can offer on this issue at the moment. You can try the workaround below but please note that it is not a solid fix. Thanks for reporting. Sorry for any inconvenience.

A possible fix for RGLGPU_DEVICE::LOCK_TEXTURE Crash

If you are crashing in the middle of the game with the “RGLGPU_DEVICE::LOCK_TEXTURE” error, you can try the workaround below to fix it:
  • Expanding the swap size on your hard disk. You can find more info regarding this here.

So really weird thing happened last night, after a crash with the same message a Windows 10 pop up appeared asking if the application had worked as expected. I selected no and it suggested running the app in compatibility mode, the mode it suggested was Windows 8.

Since doing that I've played the game for about 4-5 hrs with only one or two crashes...

Also yes I'd tried Page File settings as per dot point 3.
