i think a oriental mod would be great, my pref would b something based on legend of the 5 rings, but just any oriental would be great, u could have all sorts weapons and classes, samurai, ninja, geisha, daimyo-classes. shuriken, no-dachi, kama(small scythes), daisho(small and large katana carried by samurai), also, has anyone considered a two weapon style? that would be awesome, maybe an advanced tech?

Why not try making it yourself? It's fun, even if you wouldn't produce anything worth releasing.

Though armagan must first tell us more about this module thingy so we can edit models.

EDIT: So at least you might try to make the clothes and armor look correct, and you can always do some mesh-replacing to remove stuff like bastard swords etc.

Welcome to the forums, Sovaris.

The majority of our good mod-makers are scrambling to get their own mods up and running. With the new mod tools, there is a lot more that can be changed and tweaked in the game now.

Dynamite_Cow made a good suggestion in that you can attempt to make it yourself. There are loads of useful and informative posts on how to do specific changes that are being posted quite rapidly.

Good luck and hope to see you around,

Narcissus

The problem with that idea, is that they started the mod in mid-July and the last time I checked have no plans of releasing it until 2006.

I admit that I haven't been following it, though. I just check to make sure the posts aren't flames.

Am I mistaken or is that still their target date? Anyone?

Yeah, I read that. I dont know for sure but they were probably just guestimating seeing as the mod tools werent out yet to base an estimate on.

We're very serious and we hope to get started on the real modding asap. Although I haven't made up the release dates (and all the other great administration done by Arahan; great work!), they were rough estimates of what might be a possible release date. It's quite likely that we will release pre-release versions as we go on the way.

One problem is however that we're lacking some good scripters. I suppose I could do it myself, but given the size of the mod that would be a hell of a lot of work :'(

Another problem within the team is that at the moment, everyone is doing his wintersleep. We've been anxious to get our hands on the mod tools for quite some time now, but there hardly has been any activity on our forums.

But despair not, we'll get the job done .

*Cough*

You do know they're out, right? The documentation isn't finished and there's no model importer yet, but the scripts are out there.

I do, my point was that while we were waiting for them, nothing much happened, appart from a small dozen of models being made.

Model importer is important for any large mod. That might be involved in changing the map too. Someone said they thought the map was made in blender or something and not a MB map editor.

Hopefully there will be some kind of news on this front.

I'm nearly finished making thingy, though. I want to make new bg2.dds to look more viblant and attractive.

By the way, does anyone find out if you can inactivate a certain face skin (dark one) using mod tool? When a guy has dark face skin, the body tone changes! It looks strange for my new face and underwear.

edit: I've made wallpapers and CD covers for Onin no Ran. Each come with a set of four (Samurai, Aristocrat, Sohei, Ninja) and original .pdf files to play with. Check in the Master thread.
