Some suggestions...

Recruit
1. A story for each class, and objective, goal
Say if you are a merchant it would be to open your own shop or have 1 millino dollars, or if you are a squire it would be to be knighted and have 200 kills under your belt.
2. Better Textures
What's the point of an RPG if the weapons don't give off a certain feel for the time period
3. Chain weapons and more different arrow types
Don't tell me it wouldn't be cool to swing a chain ball, hit somebody in the face and see blood splatter everywhere while their body helplessly falls sideways to the ground. What about large arrows and spiked arrows with their own unique textures?
4. Topography
The map itself simply doesn't encompass quality terrain layout. For one, their aren't enough rivers or mountain passes and the map doesn't give off a feel of it's own uniqueness.
5. Scenery
Indoor/Outdoor Scenery, perhaps each town having it's own unique feel, a view of the mountain and the clouds or perhaps Zendar showing the river flowing in the background. Wouldn't it be lovely to see the beautiful mountain peaks in the background as you slaughter helpless mountain bandits?
6. Dynamic weather effects
This one self-explains
7. Indoor physics and better outdoor physics
In Zendar if you fall to the ground, nothing happens, your horses take way to damage from a ten foot fall.
8. A better layed out map
Terrain included, but perhaps a few villages here and there
9. Battle physics
one hit kills, area damage, arrows bounce off certain types of armor which the only way to break through them is a crossbow, more realistic blood effects(those headshots from arrows hint hint), decapitation(not that hard and is possible without too much animations)
10. An arena, competitions, tournaments
Speaks for itself
11. Simple things
Being able to get past level 50, higher level companions(man at arms perhaps) as you advance, faster horses(esp. courser and hunter and warhorse), instead of types of horses maybe breeds like instead of spirited hunter like japanese hunter etc.), a bank, more use for money, mining, hunting for food, scouts, true bartering, better sound effects including arrow drawing and when arrows hit(every see LOTR1 when the big orc hits boromir? perhaps for the warbow
12. Bugs
Weapon goes through the horse bug
The "Up arrow" bug

Please add your own suggestions feel free to critique mine/make my/others ideas better!

1. I dunno. The beauty of this game at the moment is that it doesn't matter who you were, you can pretty much end up as anything you like (meaning everyone ends up with 40 swadian knights and black armour)

2.The textures are allright, could be better. The main reason m&b looks the way it does is simply because of the engine.

3. Been suggested many times.

4. also been suggested many times. Armagan is seeing to it.

5. I'm sure eventually the towns will become more than just menus.

6. I'd like it too, but it's not necessary.

7. Physics is a complicated thing to code (at least hl2 physics anyway). But i think some of the random bugs where you somehow get hurt by trying to walk on something should be fixed.

8. Hopefully we'll eventually have large towns, small villages, bandit hideaways and a river that doesn't look ugly as sin.

9. I say again, physics are a hard thing to code, and some of those features you suggest would be very difficult to implement. Stuff like decapitation should be easy though.

10. has been suggested before

11. I agree with most of those

12. Bugs go to the Bugs forum to get squished.

200 kills? Jesus, that's like 5 average encounters. Getting knighted is a good goal, if they were added.

well I agree with most suggestions.
M&B has really got potential to be one of the best games.......
so I hope that the development team will create a better game, based on our suggestions..

I would love to see

* Larger Map
* Accurate terrain on battle map ..related to where you are on campaign map
* more "factions"
* possibility of being ambushed
* improved diplomacy
* game leaning more to historical accuracy (and hope that it will kept that way, rather than magic elements)
* use of voices and sound effects (charge= trumpeth, or whatever its called, sound for example)

hehe.. many things from RTW...

This is a crazy original game. It would kinda stink a tad to see elements from other games get added into it. At least thats my opinion. Historical accuracy I dont believe is all that important.

yus..

but the elements that I described would not harm the originality of M&B..
it would only make the game even better..

You can find that out when you go to attack an enemy faction army, it will say something like "Your relations with Vaeger/Swadian Faction decreased from -## to -##"

And then you kill'm all!

And to find your relation with your currently aligned faction. Well, when you get promoted you know your doing good!

Precisely, you can only see your relations at a specific time, I want a screen showing relations with everyone :(

and a trade screen showing which towns buy what items for how much

That reminds me of Freelancer (fun game but it gets old pretty quick).

use of center mouse scroll to quickly change between weapons..

Get a 5 button mouse and use the back button (and the forward changes shields for me :wink: ). But I do sympathise with you. The mouse wheel needs to be usable.

Well, I find that at -33 they don't hate you more any more than if they were at -6 (at -3 they are hostile but don't attack you I believe). Also, I'm pretty sure that how red the names are determine how much they hate you. For example, if you just join the Vaegirs than the Swadian relation changes to -3 and their names appear pinkish while Vaegir deserters relation with you is -33 and their names appear (fairly dark) red. I hope that made sense and was sort of helpful.

I think the only difference between a relation of -6 and -106 with the Swadians/Vaegirs is how much money you have to pay to make amends, if you should choose to do so.

I don't think we should aim for historical accuracy, since this is after all a fictitious world. Rather, we should strive for realism.

About the relations. It would nice if they were more informative, not just -14 or -100. This could be made by giving names to certain values: 0 = neutral, (-1)-(-10) = a little angry, (-11)-(40) = angry, (-41)-(-80) = very angry, etc...
