People in here are aware that I'm constantly active on the UI Suggestions subforum, right?

Cool. So how many community suggestions have made their way into the game, and if any have - which ones? Also, why has what the player does in the game fundamentally not changed since the launch of EA? And i'm not trying to be rude or confrontational, but don't you think the player needs a lot more to do than just battles and inventory management? Don't you think the game should be more robust, no only terms of mechanics but also RPG elements?

At least this many:

https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/custom-battle-need-some-love™.434201/ (choice of troops)
https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/can-we-get-a-ui-element-for-trait-score.435617/ (right notification for trait gain)
https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...ion-of-which-settlements-are-attacked.435196/ (with tracking)
https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...edia-―-information-about-heros-wealth.432679/ (not wealth specific but general sort)

But this is just from UI. And I only went page 10 out of 19 so this is half. And these don't include Settlement Icons, Cheer Mod, Persistent Lock etc. mods that we took as suggestions. There is probably more.

Depends on what you care about and your definition of "not changed". I can mostly talk about UI.

Not really what we were talking about but ok. Any game can be more robust and better. If you open a suggestion thread we'll definitely take a look at your suggestions on how we can make the game better for you.

Actually, when it comes to UI specificaly, a part for which emrozdemir is responsible, many suggestions made it into the game, and i'm very happy about it.

I don't think he can give an official answer about stuff outside of his responsibility but i guess he has an opinion about the general state of the game, like any of us.

Things other than the UI are more hard to implement as they are often connected with more than one feature, and even when accepted, implementation of those sometimes lasts quite long, as they are being tested for balance and mutual influence beforehand.

That's far from optimal, and i personally have a strong feeling this game has fallen short on many fronts i deem important, but that's just how things are for me and i have come to accept it.

Only thing we can do is make the best effort in making reasonable, useful, original and well presented suggestions and hope for the best.

This video shows nothing new that hasn't already been suggested here, but it at least gives a wider audience (that don't visit forums or reddit) something to think about.

Edit: lol just got ninjaed by emre himself ^^

I think that the devs see the feedback from the forums, but once the devs who may agree with a suggestion brings it forward they can get rejected by the powers that be. Its simply a matter of vision at this point, if your suggestion fits within the vision then viola its added into the queue of work.

My issue at this point is that we don't know what the vision of bannerlord is going to be. From what we know now it leaves out so many things that made Warband (with mods) great and current mods for bannerlord are acting as crutches. I'd be satisfied if I had more of an idea of what the current TW vision is, what is truly left for the project not just what is in the queue for work. But I guess they are too scared to get burned again , so instead we wait.

If the devs or their bosses don't like or trust some common player suggestions, maybe they can use mods as a guidance (and proof of) what players want.
If a mod is followed by a vast (I mean VAST) majority of players, then TW should probably put aside their design philosophy and implement its features.

Okay. Well it appears you have taken many UI suggestions from the community and that's awesome. But I guess I should've been more specific. UI is very important, but I should've framed my question in the context of content and mechanics, not really better UI. So as a player I appreciate all your efforts to improve the UI, but I can't say your answer really satisfies my question. And I think its fair to say, the community expected way more content and things for the player to do at this point in the EA.

And I say again, the player literally does the same exact things as day one of the EA. Nothing had changed its just been polished a bit more. We have been asking and suggesting for more for 13 months...

Thank you for your work and open minded attitude!

I wish your process of implementing suggestions was something more widespread on other fronts of the game’s development.

You don’t have to be specific, but can you tell us if there are major features/changes planned apart from keep battles, banner reworks and the new map sector mechanic? (New mechanics or attempts to make some mechanics more interesting, such as relationships, banditry and/or fief management)

edit: Since I have you here, I‘m going to give some feedback for banner creation. The colour palette is fine and the recent addition of being able to swap colours is nice, but it still restricts the choice of colours quite a bit because the two colour rows are set. Could we simply have the two rows for each pattern? Or a “select colour one” & ”select colour two” system?

It being the norm doesn't make it any less baffling, if anything, it makes it even MORE baffling.
Most big game companies ignore their own forums. And people have been complaining that companies favor streamers/YouTubers over forumites for years at this point.

Hey! I understood that reference

Although emorzemir has managed to implement quite a few fan suggestions, that is a fact and I applaud it; it is true that all of them have been "easy to implement" because they are in the same wave as Taleworlds' own official design line. In other parts of the game this is basically fighting the windmills...

By the way, is the battle UI going to stay as it is or do you expect a rework? I still think it needs urgent changes towards a rework where it replicates functions and functionality of the classic variants.

As for the main topic; I don't want to take away from this youtuber, however I don't think he has commented anything that hasn't been commented here for months or years. I like the Artem's content and in a video he also talked about the Community's concerns, which are well known to all of us. Even our dear Resonant (:iamamoron:), has a video where he shatters his white knight armour like a river reed and talks in broad strokes about the problems of the MP for once.

There are people who sometimes can be more critical or less critical, more politically correct or not, or definitely with a minimum of education and civility or not; they are all part of the Community and the Community knows perfectly well what it wants and what it doesn't want, what is right and what is not right. The question is, is Taleworlds aware of all this?

Not one major feature (maybe aside from rebellions) has been implemented since release. The free lancer mod would be an example of a big content release. Diplomacy mod was one of the top features from Warband mods, it's whereabouts are unknown. Anyone who has played Warband mods and Viking Conquest knows this game has an extreme lack of content. It's so obvious, but it's beating a dead horse at this point.

I have modding games for 20 years, I am sorry but tinkering with stuff for over a year ( some of it being directly contrary to forum opinion) is not content. This is insulting to my intelligence. This is a shell of a game it its current state, anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant and has not followed the development.

Screw Failworlds' vision. What vision? They don't have one. They have not told us their vision and the game has gone nowhere after a year of EA. It's just a term they use for a lazy dodge of responsibility and an excuse for their unwillingness to take the game anywhere, to subtly signal that they do not care at all for their community and their suggestions, and that they intend to milk this cash cow for as long as possible before they move on and attempt to build hype for their space game. They're done with Bannerlord, they've been done ever since it released. Their vision has as much merit, honesty, specificity, and decisiveness as a politician's campaign promises. I've lost all respect for this company.

What is up with this space game rumor I am reading all over the forum? I was not following the forum lately.
TW briefly had job opening posted for a non-bannerlord project and was asking for "Passion for SCI FI" or something like that.
The rest is just speculation, I think. Maybe somebody knows more. Would be cool if somebody has screen cap of the actual posting too.

Well, my disappointment for Bannerlod is great but if this new project is affecting BL in any kind of way, then I will really lost my faith in TW.

@emrozdemir I think that a lot of the frustration from the community originates from the fact that whether a suggestion is implemented, or even if we hear back about it, is incredibly hit and miss.

Some developers have been great at engaging with the community, going far beyond what I would expect from them (I was not even aware of your activity myself, but Dun and Mexxico have also been great about that and I am sure there's others that I missed). However, the whole process seems incredibly chaotic and disorganized, and the perception from the community is that development has been extremely slow for no reason, and that the game is shallow and lacks a soul.

I could be more specific on what feels wrong and why (which honestly would just require me to link a bunch of threads from the forum), but I honestly don't think that you have any power over any of that, and best case scenario you will bring it up to whoever is actually in charge and they will yawn at it and brush it aside. That is my perception based on past interactions and the fact that thoughtful threads on what is wrong about core elements of the game (combat system and collisions, just to mention a couple) went largely ignored.

And by the way, I have or at least had a very rosy view on the potential for the game once more development is done on it. This is a warm ball of sunshine talking here compared to some other forumites (and in fact I used to get accused of white knighting when the game first released). Make of that what you will.
