Some problems/issues/bugs I've found so far

Noticed some issues and/or bugs with the 3.6 version.  Hope this helps.

1) **IMPORTANT** On the village elder quests where you rescue his daughter from a lord by either paying him off or taking a ding on your relationship status with him, if you have an army close or exceeding 300 units; you will loose a significant portion of your army and have all of them replaced by the rescued daughter.  Let's say I had Knights, Jatu Lancers, Jatu Raiders, Mercenary Horseman/Cavalry, Noldor archers, Knight Archers, and Nobleman that collectively hit 300 units in my army.  I rescued the daughter from the lord and now I have Knights, Jatu Lancers/Raiders, SOME of my mercanaries and then the daughter....All the noldor, archers, and nobleman have now vanished from my army never to return even after the quest.  In order to "quick fix" this, garrison your troops until your party is around 150 and THEN rescue the daughter from the lord.

2)  In 3.6 you said you added a couple of new factions like the Militines.  Apart from additional equipment, I cannot find any of them apart from the same mercenaries.  Is this supposed to be like this (I downloaded the upgrade patch), or are they supposed to be an actual small faction with a town, villages, castles, lords, etc.?  I did start a new game (hence why I noticed the new equipment for the militines).

3) Hey again, I noticed in my new game that I start off with negative relations with the Knights of the Dawn.  I understand why I would be treated with a little hostility from the Noldor, as they don't like humans; but is there a reason why your character starts off with a -10 relationship with them?  Is this correct, or are they supposed to be neutral starting off like every other knight order?

I also noticed that I start off with a whopping -40 relationship with knight of eventide order; I haven't done anything to them and only discovered this vast amount of hate between them and me once I helped them out in a battle and my relation went from -40 to -36.....why is this relationship so highly hated when I haven't done anything to them yet?  Is this done purposefully?

4) Had an incident with the "let your companions choose from the loot" option after a battle. Ediz had D'Shar arrows (4 damage) but wound up equipping Barbed Arrows (2 damage). I think he did it because you get 4 more arrows than the D'Shar arrows. I would look over the code and make sure you are doing the armor from a collective +armor rating (head/chest/legs) and damage rating for weapons and nothing else.

With regards towards the armor, I mean that let's say you have Plate Armor that gives +56 chest and +16 leg armor; but you have a Full Plate Armor that gives +5 head, +54 chest, and +16 leg armor. Right now, my companions would auto equip the regular plate armor because it has more chest, but the Full Plate Armor collectively has more armor.

5) I've noticed that Tuldar Castle (D'Shar) does not let you create a knighthood order regardless if you have the necessary stats (money, honor, renown, etc.) and training grounds built.  The option in the dialog is there, but you are never given any choices.

Edit: Also, the choice to create your own order is awesome, but the wait times are pretty ridiculous.  I can conquer a faction or two - if not more - by the time just one upgrade is made.  I would heavily consider altering the wait times on equipping new knighthood orders to be less than half of what they are now.  I think that is a realistic time scale given how the game time scale is and taking into consideration the time to get the equipment (if a king wants some equipment, he's going to get that equipment pretty quickly I would imagine).  Lastly, this is a Knighthood, so nobles are heavily involved in it.  It does not make sense for a Knighthood that's heavily influenced by nobility - even a brand new order - to have low (even for peasants) quality armor and weapons even when starting off.

It would be a nice idea to choose right from the beginning what equipment you want them to wear and what skills to specialize in (like lances, bows, one/two handed, etc.).

With regards towards the initial equipment selection (if you decide to incorporate that); I can imagine that you would have lesser (but still decent since we're talking about a knighthood order here) gear to initially choose from (like light mails) and you can choose to upgrade to something better (like heavy plate).

UPDATE:  I was finally able to make a knighthood order at Tuldar Castle.  Still cannot figure out why it was denying me that option for so long.

6) Can someone further explain how it's decided which knighthood order you can establish at a conquered castle/town?  I would imagine that you would be able to establish w/e one you damn well pleased (as long as you have a neutral/good relationship with them of course).  I'm part of the Rangers of the Clarion Call and I'm at the upper 50's now in relationship with them.  EVERY DARN CASTLE I conquer, no matter where it is, all I can establish now is the Rangers of the Clarion Call.  This is pretty frustrating as I want my Pendor Knights to be Griphons or Radiant Crosses (and I own Laria now so I already have an establishment of the Clarion Call)....Is there some trick to this I'm not getting or will I actually have to leave the Clarion Call in order to get a better selection of knighthoods again?

Towns still have their specific Orders to choose from though, it's just that any castle only gives me the Clarion Call to choose and towns only give me their initial knighthood order and Clarion, but nothing else.

7) Hey again.  I noticed after starting a new game and having Julia in my team; Julia is set to auto equip better crossbows.  The problem is that if there are no crossbows in the loot pool, she'll just unequip it with nothing to replace it.

 Reporting in again, I noticed that some units (like Hero Adventurers) who have lances in their inventory actually try to use them in close combat...which does not work.  It may be a good idea to implement an if statement or something that tells lance equipped units to NOT use their lances in sieges or any close quarter combat while on foot.  I think Floris Workshop/Silverstag mod creator managed to do this where if they are in close quarter combat whether on foot or on horseback; they will stop using their lances.  You might want to PM him and see if he'd be willing to tell you how to do this if you have any trouble with it; I'm sure he'd be willing to help.

9) Discovered that when you raid the treasure map Red Brotherhood area (the Red Brotherhood lair you get a treasure map for); although you're fighting Red Brotherhood, this does not contribute toward Red Brotherhood bounties from Knight Orders.

10) My Qualis Gem that I was saving in my inventory disappeared!!!!  I never used it, never asked the book merchants or quigfin for anything so I have no idea why it left my inventory.  I can account to this happening in 2 playthroughs.

1. I think it's a common bug. Not sure.

2. They are a minor faction and can be hired by Kings as a mercenary group at times.

3. No you don't start off with neutral relations with all knighthood orders. Sometimes the options you choose in the beginning can affect those relations. So I believe...

4. Dont demand us to do something. How's that sound? If you dont like it, then manually equip them yourself. Lazy.

5. Probably cause there is no training ground built? Have you tested out all the other keeps to prove that one can be defective?

6. Prolly cause you have them as your order, as you are in it.

7. Equip it yourself. Nothing we can do now.

8. Yeah we know. Its a common native thing. We can't really do anything about it.

1. Known bug.

2. Only melitine units you can recruit are lancers from tavern or rescued prisoners. Merc band can be hired by kings, including you when you have a faction.

3. No, they dont like you from start. Same with eventide and ebony gauntlet.

4. Manage your companions better. plus 2 dmg is worse than 4 extra shots anyways.

Armor complaint: Your companions know what they are doing, more chest armor is better than head.

5.Did a lord make a custom order there? Or d you have a culture for your kingdom and that knighthood order dislike you?

Stoop complaining about CKHOs, they are not needed just something nice for you to do or have.

6. What faction s=culture are you, also if an order does not like you you cannot found that order.

7. Do her manually then.

Some hero adventurers only have a bow, shield, arrow, and lance. They swap to their close in weapon when they get close no matter what.

9. its secret.= and you get a qualis gem from it what more do you want? I dont know if other hideouts give a bounty either.

10. sucks to be you. you might have accidentally sold it.

goddammit. Was ninjaed.

2.  Sorry, should have added that I knew about the merc companies able to be hired.  I was curious at the time I posted it on the Nexus Forum (before I realized you blatantly wrote to report it here...god, I gotta stop skimming the description pages) if you guys had plans for extending the map (since there are a some good areas that can house a small kingdom or two (like West of D'Shar pricipality and the Jatu fields north of the Noldor Forest) and adding in these factions into their own kingdoms/outposts in Pendor.  Though if there are more armies like the Dread Legion I think I'm gonna soil myself in fear; never gonna forget that first battle.  Really made me appreciate tactics after that (and knowing when to get your lords/ladies to help you overtake them).

3.  Thanks, did not realize character creation might have something to do with that; I'll experiment around with it.

4.  Well right now I'm basically seeing what they're incorrectly auto swapping from loot pools and telling them to hold onto that item, then manually swap it if I get a better item.  Just thought maybe there was a possible bug somewhere (especially the one where Julia was just unequipping her light crossbow for nothing) and I wanted to bring it the mod author's attention.  Sorry for any confusion.

5.  There was no custom order there.  I did test out other castles and towns and was able to have knighthoods established.  Eventually I was able to establish a knighthood (silvermist archers) there after a couple of weeks (and there was a decent variety to select from if my memory is correct); but I unfortunately could not figure out why this was happening.  I believe at this point only Eventide was in a negative relationship with me.

6.  I created a Pendor Kingdom, but I was still able to have a wide variety of knighthoods first, but for some reason they disappear from my selection for an extended amount of time (around a month or so) before they appear again.  I'm in a new playthrough where I captured Nal Tar as another Pendor Kingdom King; but I can only create Order of the Dawn (I also captured Volunbray a couple of weeks before hand, so I already have their order set up).  I really enjoy the Clarion Call for some reason, so I joined their order again, but I do not have the option to establish their order either.  I think I'm only 20~ish in relations right now so maybe I'm too low to start popping up establishments of their order; but that should be the same with the Order of the Dawn then (which is below 15).  Should I be able to create other orders specific towards my kingdom (like silvermist archers, griffon, (I think) Raven Spear).  I also do not have the option to set up my own order...but if I remember correctly, that option did not appear in my previous playthrough until quite some time had past.  It was quite an awesome surprise when I discovered that option.  Speaking of which, would it be possible to decrease the upgrade times a tad?  Does any skill contribute towards this(like engineering for village/town upgrades)?

7.  That's what I've been doing; just thought I'd bring it to your attention in the hopes maybe it's just a minor bug or something.

8.  Oh I see, didn't realize some of the Hero adventurers did not have swords; but I've caught knights doing too....maybe the same problem.  Thank's for bringing that to my attention.

9.  I was just bringing it to attention.  Wasn't sure if it was intentional or not.

10.  I kept it in the bottom right corner after a few horses and a book or two so I wouldn't (hopefully) of run into that problem.  I learned my lesson and just started storing it in a castle chest like I probably should have done in the first place.

Seeing as the Eventide are a bunch of closet heretics it's not much of a stretch to believe they want to sacrifice your soul to their goddess.

Companions rate more arrows higher than incremental more damage. 4 more shots are far more valuable than 2 base damage on a possible hit.

For the reamining problems/issues/bugs you may assume or have encountered, it usually pays off to post in the proper thread, which is the QUICK QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS or the Warband BUG thread

and to use the right top corner search function.

Making a pompous list with 10 points where 8 are user errors/misunderstandings, one´s a common bug known for ages and one plain idiociy does not help lowering the pile of prejudices against recruits on this board.

 Strong wording, but pretty much describes the list.
If you are new to the forum, you are better off rephrasing i-haz-a-bug!1!! claims into questions. PoP has very few bugs, the few ones that are annoying are Native ones. Give the devs some credit - this is not some unfinished beta, but a mod that was refined over several years now.
Leave it to the veterans and the devs to see if your issues are genuine bugs or you are simply confused.

Some if not most orders require qualis gems (or have other requirements), so maybe thats why you can't make them,

I very much do give them credit; this is by far my favorite mod out there.  However you are correct on me being new to the forum community.  I wanted to make it clear that I was UNSURE if they were bugs/glitches or intentional; but just wanted to bring to their attention and to get myself educated on the matters.  I did not in any way want to make myself sound "pompous" or sound like I was ridiculing the mod authors.  This is a very large mod with, no doubt, over a thousand lines of code.  It is simply impossible to account for any and all bugs/glitches in a mod of this size.  With that being said, that is why I wanted to bring it to their attention and see if these were in fact supposed to be like that or if there was a typo or a possible bug.

The part where I ranted about the "can't make any knighthood other than the Clarion Call" did sound somewhat "pompous", I remember writing that one and I had a particularly crappy day at work only to discover that I couldn't make any other knighthoods and it was like all the crap I dealt with just came piling down on me.  I should have revised that before copying it here; my apologies.

I think you misunderstood what I wrote.  I know you can't make the gems; I was saying that I was storing the gems in my inventory and for some reason; they were vanishing from my inventory after a while.

It´s more like 30 - 50 thousand lines of code.

And just like MV said it had been better if you have had posted your concerns as questions in the approbiate topic to be answered quickly enough. Had it been a bug you´d ´ve been told so and asked to post it in the approbiate section.

You´re aware of the modify button and the fact doubleposting isn´t considered a nice thing to do?

Apart from that, you do know that sometimes if you´re defeated you lose stuff to the victorious party?

Really?  I thought they hated heretics as much as Dawn, but were appalled towards the Dawn's methods of being judge, jury, and executioner.  They did not agree at all that there method was basically calling anyone a heretic and immediately killing them by setting them on fire without proper investigation.  The Dawn basically "goes with their gut" on their judgement on whether someone could possibly be a heretic or not (at least that's how the Dawn came off to me as).  I completely agree to that and really wished I could of at least started out on a neutral relationship with them so I could start making establishments of their order.

Of course, after researching a bit; I fixed this for my own personal playthrough by tweaking the factions.txt and changed the -.4 to 0.0 which set their initial relationship to neutral for me.

I'll make sure to do that next time.  As I said in a previous post, I am new to this; and since this was the link the Description page on the NexusMods site had, I just assumed to post here.  I'll take notice of where exactly to post if anything else should come to question in my playthroughs.

When I said I copied these over to this forum; I originally posted these on the Nexus site, but they had written to post any questions or reports to this site instead (which comes off to me that they don't bother checking the nexus forum much due to all the reposts/fluff that generally come its way, so I made sure to post everything here).

MadVader 说:
"They" most certainly like to have to check only one forum, this one.

Yea, that's what I was trying to say.  Checking multiple forums; especially one like the Nexus where it is not as organized for specific reports, is going to be nearly impossible to accurately address the posts that come in.

I think you misunderstood me  I meant that some knighthood orders required Qualis gems and thats maybe why you lost yours and since you don't have anymore of them (Qualis gems) you don't have acces to the rest (the knighthood orders that require them)

About conditions to found Orders, read the in-game help at Notes->Concepts->Reference: Knighthood Orders.

*slaps forehead* OMG!!!! Thank you for clearing that up; I had absolutely NO CLUE!!  Thank you so much for this; trying it out right now; you're a life saver man.  Also, sorry for my big mix up.

UPDATE:  You were absolutely correct, I tested it out and viola!  Whole swarm of knighthood choices.  Thanks again.

Will definitely actually READ instead of SKIMMING it this time.  Thank you for the accurate reference.

While we're on the subject; assuming you're one of the mod authors/devs; is that story about Vance all true??  If so, that's really amazing and good on you all (and my condolences'; he sounded like a spectacular person).
