Some ideas

Hey everyone,

I was playing M&B warband  and was thinking about the Floris mod where you can enlist in the army of a lord. I like that and, when i'm not busy with getting a strong base for my conquest of Calradia, I am busy with trying to survive as a Saranid footman
This got me thinking, I would really, really like it if there was and option to enlist in a lords army in Bannerlord. And to go a bit further, if you get to the top rank of the existing troop list in whatever class/type of soldier you chose, it would be really awesome if you can expand on that position.
For example, after certain amount of (survived) battles, and certain amount of experience/enemy troops disposed of  it would be awesome to get some kind of commanding role, in which you can train troops for your lord and gain command over the type of troops you are yourself. For example, if you are an archer, you can command archers to focus fire at a certain position in the enemy ranks, and as you gain experience, the commands can be expanded and or give you more archers to control.
After that position and some more disposing of enemy troops, you would be able to reach the rank of champion of the army. When champion, you'll be able to take command of the army while the lord stay's back. This can happen if the battle is a minor skirmish against some rebels, a battle against a significant smaller army, or against a lower enemy lord then your current lord. From this position you'll be rewarded a minor nobility rank, from which you can then move on to create your own army in service of the king of the faction your with and from there just like it is in M&B warband.

This would be, in my opinion, a great way to rise from the street urchin to the most powerful position possible and would give so much more variety to the game.

What you you think?

Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.

I feel like this would be a good addition. I'd like to take the 'commoner soldier' route, enlisting in the army of a Lord just as any other peasant would, and climbing up the ranks battle after battle, gaining more and more authority over the men.

Imho Taleworlds shouldnt put any resources into singleplayer once the base sandbox is done. I mean most people are only gonna play through it once, if at all and never touch it again.

People dont even finish linear, story driven games if you look at Steam achievement statistics.

Multiplayer has to be the focus.

M&B was build on Singeplayer, MP was only added while players wanted to play against and with each other , SP is the best part of M&B
PS: i Conquered Calradia already over 20 times and have 3500+ hours

My humble opinion differs a little from yours then
I think multiplayer is a good addition to the game, but i have never touched the multiplayer, i'm having fun enough with the single player world. And check the workshop, there are many mods and overhauls for single player, even entire new worlds have been build for it. I think the single player world and the many different ways players can achieve the ultimate goal of the game is the strongest part of the game. Lack of steam achievements is because of all the mods available that improve some game play features, which i believe many players use.

i know hes banned fer some reason? but the M&B Series has and will always be a SP game at first, the Multiplayer is just a bonus, though its sad to see tha more and more o these competetive young punks come in and try to destroy a really good SP game with their MP bull**** tha mostly will last fer 6 months or maybe a year.
im all fer good MP, Sure but do not try to change an already winning concept on the SP.

I like the idea of being able to eventually gain a nobility role from proving yourself in battle for a lord over time. I also have little interest in playing multiplayer. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I'm looking forward to an immersive medieval single player experience. I have little interest in deathmatch type games. Although, conquer and control strategic points or capture the flag style multiplayer is enjoyable. I might do those if they are available.

I hope Taleworlds looks through these, enlisting and rising through the ranks sounds like a fun addition! (Also add my hat into the ring of single-player focused, I like the addition but I never play multiplayer games really)

+1 I really like this idea of being able to gain a nobility titel after a while of just figting for a Lord
it would make sense

I have no idea if they look through the forums and/or do anything with ideas or feedback they get, my guess is as good as yours. There is hoping they do though.
There will be multiplayer according to their blogs. I don't mind, there are people who like that too, might even try it out myself once the game gets here.

I just created my account on this forum to say the exactly the same thing!
I hate the repetition of quests over all game genre. Find something, fight pirates, transport something, trade. Maybe sometimes i just want to plough the farmland i own, watch a traveling medieval theatre type play about the latest gossips of events in general, borrow money to others for investments.
It would be nice to be able to edit castle walls or custom fortify villages. Improve farm output by (almost) manually digging irrigation systems or fountains with donkeys rising the water from them. As the lord of a village you could let people manage themselves or tell them to plant seeds for wheat or raise vineyards if you are near a hill or cut down an area of trees and plant fruit trees and if people start starving because of your leadership the people may revolt or starve and leave or you will have to pay for food for them from selling what they produced. If you are near mountains you could try to start a mine of stone or fail because the land isn't stable or find silver and get rich.

I know many would not like to enter that much in detail and probably 99% of people play the game for the fights and gore and hack-and-slash action but think about the power of games like minecraft where you can plough the land and watch the sunset from something you jut finished building. People like rising a village with (almost) their own hands and see it as it grows after fails and hardships, after raids and fires.

I would like the game to be able to evolve from one stage to another organically.
Start as a lone wanderer reach a farm, plant fruit trees, wheat and , make a profit and invest in a traveling pharmacy. Get out of the business before people find out it's a scam; make a profit and buy a herd of cows. Buy some land and start a tiny village by hiring villagers to take care of the cows. Pay a few men to protect the farmland, build a hall, build fountains, raise a wood wall, build houses outside the wall for more villagers, cut down a large area of forest for grazing, make charcoal for a lot of iron. Make and sell some weapons, pay bandits for local protection, get involved in local politics, create an army.

That has to be one of the most absurd posts I've ever read.  I guess all of those gamers with 1000+ hours invested into the game, without ever having played a multi-player match, don't count in your opinion.  Never mind the dozens of popular mods with thousands of downloads, which have no use in a multi-player setting.  Those gamers who waste 75% of the potential of the game by only playing multi-player battles don't count in my opinion.  Gee, I guess there's no point in making the upcoming sequel game, since obviously nobody who counts wants it.
