Premise is pretty simple. As much as I love the aesthetic of the old Japanese armours, I wasn't feeling perfectly happy with the face masks in Gekokujo. So I went and did what any reasonable person would do, and redrew them to my liking. Now, I haven't done any texture work since university, and I never was particularly good at that to begin with, I'm more of a straight up illustration kind of guy. I wanted to get some sort of muostache thing going on too, but I figure that's a fair bit beyond my level, and would involve modelling work as well, which I absolutely detest doing. That said, I'm liking the results of this little retexture so far (the crests are still a bit buggy, as you can see in the screenshots, but I'm done working on them for tonight, I'll get to fixing them later), and I'm wondering about people's interests in seeing more elements of Gekokujo done in this more illustrative style of mine. Additionally, any crits or advice would be appreciated, I kind of suck with texturing, and just straight up drew stuff on and hoped for the best for the most part.
As for the textures themselves, you can download them at http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=28336162232926738284. Just extract all the files into the textures folder of your module. You might consider backing up the originals beforehand. Or not. That bit's not my problem.
UPDATED VERSION DOWNLOADABLE AT http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=09927018995872537278. Tare/neckguard bits have had some slight alterations made (mostly recolouring with some touch ups). Red mask now has a moustache, while the brown mask has had a touch of colour correction and some paint added. These alterations should serve to differentiate all three masks from one another now. Let me know what you think about these changes. I've also cleaned up the crests, but some of the issues still persist. No idea what to do with these, but they look serviceable now at least.
