The Shift button that allows you to temporarily group groups together should also allow you to remove a group from the group.
So, as an example of how things would work if this was implemented, the command chain "1 shift+2 shift+3 F1 F1 shift+2 F1 F3" would first result in Groups 1, 2 and 3 holding position, and then Groups 1 and 3 charging.
It'd also be nice to be able to temporarily assign a meta-group to a group of groups by pressing CTRL+ALT+NUMKEY, and select that group by pressing ALT+NUMKEY. Pressing CTRL+ALT+NUMKEY again with no groups selected would clear the NUMKEY. It'd also be great if groups could be in multiple meta-groups simultaneously.
So, as an example of how things would work if this were implemented, the command chain "1 shift+2 shift 4 CTRL+ALT+1 shift+1 CTRL+ALT+2" would assign groups 1, 2 and 4 to meta-group ALT+1, and groups 3 and 4 to meta-group ALT+2.
Finally, I would like to be able to select an individual unit who I am within "use" range of with the F key, give him orders and even assign him to an existing group for the duration of the battle by use of the command CTRL+NUMKEY (for those who don't see why this would be useful, the two words "dismounted cavalry" should clear things up).
So, as an example of how this would work in practice, the command chain "F, CTRL 1" would select the unit and assign it to Group 1 for the duration of the battle, and at the conclusion of the battle the unit would revert to its original group.
Thanks!
