(Solved) Driver Help - INF File Missing

Users who are viewing this thread

Today I met some problems with the ATI driver, I just unistalled the old one then downloaded the new one, started the installation then an window appeared and said that I need to stop the installation because this software may not work and cause crashes. Yeah stopped it, started the install my old drived again but my CD had an missing file and now I'm like an **** in the grass without any driver.

My specs:

ATI Radeon X300SE
Old catalyst version: 5.8
Old driver version: 12-038 (8.162)

I still can't find my old driver on the net, any help would be apreciated.

Ok, now you can solve that.

Click Run, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. Right click on your graphics card, located under "Display adapters" and choose update driver. Choose 'Install from or a specific location" and then "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." Click "Have Disk" and browse to the location of unpacked 64-bit drivers and select the driver file.

Hopefully this helped other users with such problems.

I always use Google, anyway no luck for me. There is nothing wrong with my CD, it's an missing INF file, I need to know its name, any help ?

Edit: Solved. Click run, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. Right click on your graphics card, located under "Display adapters" and choose update driver. Choose 'Install from or a specific location" and then "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install."
