Ok, these times may be off a little but I just wanted to make sure everyone can vote. Anyways, my learning curve is about 1-3 days. This thread is just out of curiousity, I think Mount and Blade needs a get a bit of getting used to so you dont get your butt dragged around by the other players.

Nobody ever really reaches their full potential, people keep improving the more they play, pro or not.

true, but I think this is about how long it takes to become a competent player, not how long it takes to master it.

true words of wisdom. that goes for all things too,not just games.

Been in beta for cople of months now and I still have a hard time treing to hit the right movment key turn and swing all at the same time.

Whoa that was a  quote, one of those inspirational types, anyways like ares007 says, I mean the amount of time to become a competent player. Oh and note to everyone, dont be afraid to click on noob or semi noob, it takes a real man/woman (dont wanna be sexist) to admit his weaknesses.

Yeah I should be a poet or something.

Anywho, competent...

Didn't take long, since I started the day Oceanic servers were opened so everybody was just as crap as me to start with.

Same thing with me. I've played M&B for years now, joined multiplayer, and started playing as much as possible as soon as we had some servers. Didn't take me all that long to get used to; manual blocking took a few days to learn though. So now i'm fairly competent at it .

Didn't take me long to get competant at most game elements, manual blocking took longer, but now I prefer to manual block when I can.

Overall took me about 2 days of game play.

I think it took me few days to master my bow but I suck at anything else... I started to learn the manual block and I'm getting better at it

I have always been fairly good at mount and blade, warband was no exception. Though i seem to die alot...

Voted n00b, I can shoot a (x)bow and survive against inexperienced during melee but once someone good crosses my path I die.

I dont mind being average though, as long as I enjoy the game.

I was very pleased with myself when i managed to manual block a few hits of Death yesterday on the duel server

Yeah when i first started it was rare if i got a kill now im coming at least top half of the scoreboard

(Wow its hard to do this without sounding like a douche bag)

Well, i spent the first week having my ass completely kicked, rarely getting a kill-  then I sort of 'got it', and within a day i totaly turned my game around and became the guy doing all the ass kicking

Im good with infantry, and have recently branched out and become great with archery/xbows (if i do say so myself )  and am moving onto cavalry now.

once you kinda 'get it' you will quickly become very good.

It took me weeks to acquire a somewhat respectable proficiency at Warband combat at first.  I adjust to each big patch in a few hours now, though.

WEll, its nice to see an honest Mount and Blade Warband bunch . I wonder if total game experience has to do with the learning curve of a game, I think yes. Anyways, for all you pros, did you originally play Mount and Blade, and if possible, how long?
