So many abandoned modifications

I looked up some mods that I had in my favorites, almost all of them were outdated and abandoned.

Loved to have mods that increased the battle times, such as more health or less damage mods. Not personally interested in RBM since it changes too much for my liking.

Another mod was a raiding mod that provided more loot when raiding. And others.

What are your favorite mods that have now been abandoned?
 
And now guess why so many mods are abandoned?

And for me there are too many mods that were abandoned to list them all...
 
Heritage, for the child face randomization.
Better Raiding Loot, as the name states.

All the rest were either fixed by TW at some point or still maintained.

Because modders are under no obligation to maintain them.

Forgot to mention, the one mod that is the absolute favorite mod of mine, My Little Warband, still works on 1.0.2, so I went back one version from 1.0.3 just to play with that mod. So grateful to the modder for keeping it somewhat up to date. It really is a must have mod for me.
 
Beta broke so many things and is some buggy / crashing at the moment that we released RBM for beta only on our discord (its public though) because we did not want to deal with all the feedback (that will be mostly related to beta itself not the mod).

Your work is astounding, that you manage to keep RBM updated with almost every new version (or every version?) is great for your fans. Kudos to you and the team for that.
 
Died a long time ago but mine was a Reinforcements mod that allowed reinforcements that were closeby the battles flashpoint on the campaign map to actually show up within a certain amount of time (depending how close they were) and from the actual diirection they were coming in from.
 
what bothers me is when modders simply ghost the users and stop responding. you can tell they are still using the site but they just don't give a **** any more.

why is it so hard to pin a simple message: "i just can't be bothered with this any more so it won't be updated further". why is this so hard?

Try modding for a few years and then youll better understand -things can get really tiresome. Alls it takes is one really over demanding or ignorant post. Or maybe it took a real long time and a lot of head banging to fix a bug that the last update broke and then along comes another update...theres alot of reasons and these guys are just trying to make something fun in their spare time with no compensation

Because it isn't some conscious decision to stop. They just burn out.

What bothers modders are players who presume they are entitled to eternal and instant updates/maintenance, as if mods are part of the paid game, despite being provided part-time and unpaid as a hobby. TW are still making lots of changes to their code base.

I loved this one. I'm surprised nobody has replicated it. It made battles so much more dynamic. I actually lost battles I expected to win because I got surprised in the rear or the flank. Been dead since 2020 though

Yeah crap like this is exactly the reason I stopped modding Warband. Most modders are just doing it for themselves, and when they lose interest in the process they just lose all motivation to keep updating it. But now the ease at which people can access and install every mod makes them treat mods like part of the game, and the project that ease onto the modmaking process itself when it's only getting more difficult to mod games now.
 
Yeah I feel like the mod community has taken a dive. Really disappointing that so many of my favorite mods are outdated like server as a soldier.
 
The game needs new content, that would bring some of the older modders back and we might see some updates.
 
Mods die out because it is so frustrating to constantly update them to newer versions of Bannerlord. At least with Warband there was one game-breaking update to it (the Invasion update of 2016, at least for MP projects) and that was it. Bannerlord being a more difficult game to mod takes its toll on its modders, with its constant updates discouraging any effort.
 
...It's true that the WB modding scene was richer than the current one of BL, but there are still several total conversions projects in the works and several modding teams have moved to discord, while once it was ALL here on the forum and it was more easy to know and have them at hand...
