I have been smithing/smelting at every town I visit. In fact I have collected over 1000 various types of iron and steel, made hundreds of weapons (the SAME weapon, over and over) and still I am not even level 70 and have very little unlocked. I cannot make pikes, throwing weapons, two handed maces. I have only 2 blades unlocked for swords. I have 3 axe heads. I have 3 mace heads. This is WITH the curious smelter perk.
Part of the problem is the very low chance of unlock. The bigger problem is the randomized nature of it. There are simply WAY TOO MANY pointless attachments, such as pommels and spear counterweights that do NOTHING, are too expensive, and just soak up your unlocks to my extreme rage.
