Smithery

I think you should be able to be trained in smithery, get the right tools from a merchant or whatever, and then make a weapon or some armour. Of course you could only make things depending on how good a smith you are, and the more you practise the better you could get.

If smithing is included, it should be done properly. I have seen enoungh games with simple point and click-smithing. But I don't know how it exactly should be done. Maybe system where you can freely design the looks and stats of the weapon/armour you are making. But if it would be simple Runesgayp-like thing, I'd rather live without it.

I'd like to see a detailed smithing simulation!!! You form the weapon/armor by hitting it with a hammer, just like IRL!!!! And you should be able to skin animals, or weaker companions!!!!! you could make armorr from the leather, or you could sacrifice it for the favor of St. Bartholomeus!!!

*Drooling*

I would fancy hitting a weapon 1000 times before selling it for a 10dinnar profit.

Sarcasm aside, i would still like to see real smithies in the game (even though the player wouldn't be one), so when you get in the smiths shop, you see an an anvil, a forge, maybe people pounding etc.

You mean like Gothic 2, svart? When I firts played the game I was thinking " Oh my god, my money was wasted in this crappy game!" but when I reached the city, I loved the feeling of imersion this game shows by his almost living NPCs, like the smith who make weapons in the forge. I would like very much if the NPCs in Mount and Blade could show the feeling they are alive really, instead of standing still all the time.

Dude don't make me reinstall it, ok ?
Gotta hand it to you how you read my mind

I'd be happy to see a wider range of non-combat pursuits for the PC beyond trade routes. Fishing and hunting have already been suggested, but I'd like to see smithing, tanning, and prospecting as well! Pile 'em on and make it addictive.

You don't want your copy? Can I have it? Wait, the shipping would ruin my budget. Damn shipping charges! And I can buy Gothic2 + expansion for 20$ CAD off amazon on Nov. 13th.

To the point. I think some kind of smithy is a must. But how many topics on it do we need?
