Small Graphical Suggestions

I had a few ideas recently so I made a list. These are all quite small touches that could proberly be added in quite simply.

In no particular order:

1- Clouds that slowly move accros the sky such as in Unreal Tournement.
2- Have the screen fade in and out when changing scenes, such as from the town centre to the pub, to smooth out the transtion.
3- An animated background on the main menu such as in Shogun - Total War.
4- Items in the inventory could slowly rotate (once every two seconds) when the mouse is held over them to give a better view.
5- Better quality underpants as the current ones are very tatty and look naff.
6- An option to have lower polygon trees instead of the normal trees for weaker computers because a forest can cut my framerate by three quarters.
7- Animate plants and trees so that they appear to be blown by the wind.
8- Make it possible to change the game resolution from the game menu instead of from windows.
9- Use a clearer, less blurry font for the text, this is quite bad at lower resolutions.
10- Nicer arrows for the tracking skill that are in keeping with the theme of the game, the current ones look like they were drawn in ms paint.
11- Add whitish trails to arrows, bolts and throwing weapons so that they are easier to see.
12- Have a sun glare effect when looking at the sun.
13- Show a weather report at the bottom of the map screen, next to the day and time. (eg. clear, fog, rain etc.)

What do you think?

some of these ideas might be good for the final version of the game..... but there are still much bigger gameplay additions that need to be made. I think at this point most people who play M&B are less concerned with making the game look pretty, and more concerned with combat mechanics, troop commands/formations, and other big gameplay issues.

1. What we really want is a 3d skybox ala Half-life 2
12. There already is a glare effect for the sun. It's not really noticeable though.
13. What would be better is if you could actually se the weather on the world map. Just things like clouds casting shadows on the ground, and fog and rain and stuff.

I agree with most of your other points.
