Slave Trading

I have a feeling this may have been posted, but my searches are getting me nowhere.

I'm sure you've all noticed that all people are worth exactly the same to the slave trader, making this feature useless later on in the game. If khergit raiders, etc, are worth the same as river pirates, there's no point in bothering with the slave trade as you'll outgrow its benefits within a few levels of starting.

Maybe slavers could pay the same price for everyone, but if you capture enemy cavarly or well trained infantry your lords could pay you for your deeds. I thin this could improve the usability of prisoner management. At least I think so... but that's just me.

Yeah it should be possible to ransom knights and other high end warriors of the two states.
Deserters should have a bounty on them from their parent faction.

And the various bandits and troublemakers should have different values to the two slavetraders. Khergits and Steppe Bandits would be good at working the salt mines, due to their short stocky build. Sea Raiders would be great for the galleys as they are already used to the sea and rowing (them being vikings more or less).

Mayb you should be able to be an abololitionist and free the slaves! That way some will join you maybe!

I say differnt prices for different slaves.

Peasants - 30
River pirates and forest bandits - 50 denars
Footmen and Militia - 80
Sea Raiders - 100 and so on.

I don't think a black knight or other elite warrior would make much of a galley slave. They'd strangle the crew at the first chance they get.

Slave trading is pretty useless in my opinion since you only make a small amount of money compared to selling off good equipment, doing quests or making money in other areas. The prisoner management skill is not that useful. Hopefully in future versions you will be able to ransom captured knights for big money and make capturing prisoners a profitable practice.

Well it depends on when you do it... In the early game 3-500 extra denars are relly nice. But later on it is of course comparably less, especially since you can even fight several enemy groups on one patrol/mission.

So I will refer to my earlier post regarding how this could be made useable again. Perhaps you could even get a bit experience from ransoming knights. Would need to be at a lords castle, perhaps even a friendly one.
