i just had an idea as i've had a quest asking me to bring 6 swadian footmen as prisoners and i just cant seem to find any at all... It'd be sweet to be able to buy prisoners off the slave traders for a price depending on what they are...

I agree. At least the slave trader in Zendar could sell prisoners for a reasonable price (assuming the guy at the Salt Mines simply sends 'em off to work themselves to death instead).

Along the same lines, perhaps it should be possible to exchange prisoners with allied armies?

I don't think you get nearly enough from slave trading. I think there should be a lot less battlefield loot and a lot more for slaves, that would make the taking and return of prisoners a high priority and also make "prisoner management" a much more important skill to develop. You wouldn't even bother with prison management at the moment as the returns are so poor, and all prisoners really do is slow down your party.

Don't really agree with the idea of different prices for different prisoners, after all they are all going to end up as galley slaves, and one man's labour is as good as another's.

However as I said before I don't see the point in having different "categories" of prisoners, ie bandits, mountain bandits, river pirates etc. Prisoners are prisoners, what's the point in having them categorized in this way when they all end up as galley slaves anyway?

I guess what you could have are special categories of prisoners that bring more money, say, bandit chiefs who have a price on their heads, enemy lords and so on. In fact, you might be able to take on quests to capture or kill these folks as a means of laying your hands on some worthwhile cash.

But regardless of that I still think the price of prisoners should be jacked up, to say 1000 gold per prisoner (with a bit of variation depending on condition) instead of a measly 100. I'm inclined to think that prisoner trading should be a major means of earning money in this game rather than mere battlefield loot. Getting money from battles is just too easy. You take prisoners, then you have to safely get them to a slave trader to get your dough. That not only forces you to travel around more, so you can't just bash heads/cash loot at nearest town/repeat, but it also means a chance you might get waylaid by a stronger party and have to hand over your precious prisoners or have them stolen from you.

About the slaves. It should be cool to actually see slaves working their arses off in the saltmine (muahah?)
Is here gonna be something like that in future?

Or you could sell your slaves to battlearena in some city, and if your slave wins you get some money?

Ok, maybe not...

Slaves at Zendar and at the salt mine should be sold for the same price. (but perhaps a bit more, like 200 each)

But you should be able to ransom Knights and high-class soldiers back to wherever they came from. 2500 for a ransomed knight would be quite neat.

Also, you should always be able to give swadian prisoners to vaegir counts and vice-versa. Of course, a swadian peasant will be near worthless compared with a swadian Knight in terms of information you can get out of him.

I'd like to see more heroes in the game. Not ones you can hire to fill up valuable party space as such, but ones which do their own thing. Named heroes fighting for vaegir, swadian and bandit causes. Capturing one means you can pawn him off to the enemy at a high price.
