The fact is: the next version is really late and people are starting to fear that the game might have been abandoned, which I dont believe is true, of course.

But that web site is really helping to give this impression, becouse it seens long forgotten. The latest "new" is from june, the screenshots are from an older version, there are no signs of life or progress anywhere. If the new user dont have the idea of trying the forums, he/she will never know that this active community exists and will probably think that "M&B" is just another independent game that failed to be finished, another unfulfilled promise.

It does not help also the fact that the site has so little information about the game, its features, its planned features, the current state of development or anything actually. What we have on that site? A brief and superficial explanation about the game, some old screenshots, a download link and the buy link.

Thinking from the perspective of a new potential buyer, what reason he/she would have to buy a game, or even try it, knowing so little about it, realizing that there´s been months since the last update, and everything just looks old and forgoten?

I know Armagan is probably too busy programming the game to work on the web site, but he really should find someone to that care of it becouse that old, empty site is starting to become a heavy "counter-publicity" for the game.

i like the idea of getting someone to update the site.. we have forum mods...so why not website mods.

not me ofcourse cuz i have no idea but i dont think it would be to difficult

What makes you say the new version is late? Have you seen some schedule or post by Armagan saying this? It's not late, it's just taking a while to come out. Tough cookies. Also, Armagan would have to give the site mods info, which would make subsequent releases even "later".

Armagan spoke about the whole tool system... you may not know a lot about coding, but it is probably a lot of structuring compatibility if I`m not mistaking on the nature of the engine... it is all a matter of formatting entries and all, and on a game of this size, it may take a damn while... if I were armagan, I'd cal the next update 0.7wediditdamnit

Hear hear.

my experience is... i fell on several sites talking about M&B before trying the website... the old news didn`t keep me from downloading the try-out game and buy it the week after.. the game speaks for itself... I mean, up to this point its almost worth the 12$ i have put in it... i mean, add 5 updates to this and its a good game for 12$... I can only hope fr further updates, but long silent moments are just what dev brings... if armagan kept talking here, he wouldnt obviously work a damn lot... and dont forget he is a human, hell he could even take a month off! I don`t think its worth asking for empty news such as "next version coming - somtimes"... would you all be reassured? no...

From the site we are discussing:

Mount&Blade is maintained actively and we release updated versions every few weeks.

Anyway, this is not the point. The point is: the site is outdated and contains very little information about the game. First time I heard about "M&B" I went to the site and after reading the first lines of that vague narrative that is supposed to be the description of the game, and throwing a displicent look at those screenshots, I just though "Oh, great, just another RTS, but with horses". I downloaded the game anyway but let it sitting in my HD until one day I had nothing to do and found it and decided to give it a try. Then, of course, I got really surprised becouse the game was nothing I though it would be.

And when I was deciding if I would buy it or not, I went back to the site to search for more information, like release dates, planned features, this kind of stuff. Realizing that no information other than that vague narrative could be found on that site almost turned me away from buying the game (but then I got adicted to it and had to buy it anyway).

But fraklly, maintaining a small, simple website like that is not really the hardest work in the world. Armagan could just find someone to put some usefull info, replace those old screenshots, post an update everytime "M&B" gets a review somewhere, this kind of stuff. It would help the sales and the sales would help Armagan finish the game.[/quote]

You should read his posts before saying its not late, seems like YOU were the one only guessing, he did say his taking his "sweet time" with the mod tools, and then this.

The new version has been late because there was too much new stuff to be done before releasing it.

Elias_Maluco: Thanks for your feedback. I'll try to update the site more frequently in the future. For the time being I added some new concept art to the screenshots page. They are drawn by Hilmi Aric (esbsuvar in the forums) who is a talented artist, an expert horseman, a history student and a Mount&Blade player all at the same time...

Very good concept art, by the way, this esbsuvar guy is really good.

I have guessed i would have colleagues among your staff armagan  historical studies are a must "gogogo!!!"...
*calms down*
see I told ya all, Armagan isn't dead

Don't push the developers. It's going to be total-whine^2, if they don't make this particular update very carefully. We don't want that do we?

What if redesigning page in flash a?

Make streaming sounds of game, streaming videos, slidshow of screens and art work. And all other good stuff a?

Make website more interactive some new people would realy feel the quality of game even before playing it .

Make streaming sound so people could brouse page and listen to some great music from game. Make the new people actualy feel the environment of game before trying the beta vertion...
