Sintel (Short Film)

Figure you guys might enjoy this. Besides the fact that it was made completely in Blender 3D, it's an extremely well done short film.

Plus, that was made in Blender? Damn! The story could probably be fleshed out and made into a full length movie.

The plot wasn't great, but the textures/models/animations were incredible.

Nice amateur work, but nowhere near good enough to watch a full length movie off. The models are good, but they did better 9 years ago (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0173840/). Of course, they had a big budget whereas these guys probably didn't.

I was impressed, not only by the graphics and animations but also the directing, voice acting and sound effects.
The story is simple as it should be for a short, with a good twist.
(was I the only one who could see it coming?  - but it doesn't matter, it's still psychologically subtle and well told).

I honestly didn't see it coming, i thought the girl had attacked the wrong pair of dragons. I mean, why would there be only 2 dragons in the whole world?

Found it a bit sentimental, and yeah, saw it coming. However the way they handled that - the girl ageing - was pretty cool and made up for it.

No, but he had a "legendairy" weapon or something. And yet he got killed by a teenager...

I thought the old man just said it had killed many innocent people.

And really, while it was simple I don't really see what more is needed for a dozen minutes. I liked it very much. Also, the voice acting and the sounds in general surprised me.
