Sinistrality, Resolution, and Cursor Boundaries

Sinistrality
I'd enjoy seeing an option (when creating a new character) to allow them to be left or right handed - just to be different. Having some (maybe 10%) enemies lefthanded could mix up the fights, make things interesting. What do you think?

Resolution
When I gave the demo to a friend, his computer wasn't good enough to run M&B at the same resolution as his desktop while keeping a playable framerate ("integrated chipsets" ::shudder::smile:. A slider or listbox present on the intro screen would be handy.

Cursor Boundaries
Those with dual-monitor setups would understand this. While playing M&B, it's sometimes a little boring waiting for the party to cross the map for the umpteenth trade run. I'd like the mouse cursor (while in pointing mode, not aiming mode) to be able to move off the first screen and onto the second where I can read mail or these forums, being able to glance back at the game, still running in fullscreen. I don't expect Armagan will implement this, it's a little esoteric (and apparently tricky, since very few games deal well with dual monitors and window focus changes).

There is somekind of bug with the map cursor. Nothing major, It just has some numbers or letters above it. Theyre too small to really read, so I don't know what they are.

Worbah
This letters are D3D, and it's not a bug)) I think armagan was playing with cursors and added this to test something, and he happily forgot to remove it

unfortunately, back in these times, lefthanders where the same like a witch! the question was: are lefthanders, human beeings too?

if you got seen, beeing lefthanded, you got burned!!! so no lefthanders for a RPG set in this time period!

but on the other hand, you can play a female char in this game-> wich means in reallity she got beaten than raped and in the end killed by lousy riverpirates. but in the game it "works".

anyways i dont need a "lefthanders" feature.

greetings

Hey, never heard of the amazons? or Joan o' Arc (poor lass)?

Female warriors were and are a reality

Perhaps rare, but well...

On the other hand... i am a femminist, AND i am left-handed...

Proudly so! The hand of the devil!

hehe...amazons are fictional tale figures, made by homer(not simpson  )

and joan o´arc was religeous fanatic, wich belived that god gave her this duty after heving visions(meybe early form of LSD)! but she brought a (moral)change wich made france win the 100years war(in reallity it was 120years war). i think 1331-1451

england belived she is a witch(and burned her after capturing((i think in lyon))), and france thought shes a holly person  .

the only forms of female fighters(where the females fought side by side with the male fighters) are found at celtic and germanic tribes of a few hundered to tousend people! becouse of they got not enoug "mens" for fighting and capturing new land, so the wimens fought too!

greetings

Lothar:
Actually the celtic and germanic women regularly followed men to the battlefield. It has been said that a barbarian warrior would rather face certain death than the scorn of his wife

Remember, women can be as vicious fighters as men. I for one know several ladies who have a mean streak a mile wide

But then again i live in Finland.

I for one would like to see lefthandedness. As I am lefthanded.

And it's complete bollocks that left handed people were burned at the stake in those times lol. I bet it didn't exactly make you popular though :F

It was considered "the hand of the devil" for some religious bull****.

Anyway, at least here in italy, around the sixties (1960, that is), left - handed people were forced to use their right hand, to correct what was seen as a "disease".

Bloody idiots. I am left-handed, and proudly so! I can do everyhing a right handed can do, and do that BETTER! Left-handeds of all the world, unite yourselves, and march under the flag of our holy vengeance!!!

Uhm... sorry, i got carried away

they most certainly were not. they may have been fictional, but myths involving the amazons were common. Homer had nothing to do with their creation.

as far as the reason left hands are considered "sinister", it's the same reason we shake with our right. shaking hands proves that you have no weapons up your sleeve/in your hand. if you are a lefty, then you can shake hands and it doesn't prove anything.

Yeah, and we lefties always carry swords around. About the amazons: Many, many cultures have had women as second-line troops, most notably the Spartans, the Sarmatians, and the Marathas.

Swapping hands is no cosmetic task. Consider a lance duel with differently handed people.

That's kind of the point - instead of doing the expected, the lefties would go against the grain and suprise you. In the case of the lance duel, it wouldn't be a simple straight-line affair, the lefty would be steering right to get the other dude on his good side.

Actually left handed swordsmen were payed extra - castles were made so that a right handed defender would have an advantage over a right handed attacker, but a left hander evened this out.
