Single Player Vaegir... Where did they go?

Am I the only one who thinks the Vaegir faction in SP is totally invisible? I mean they have white names on snow.

Options-
Change the color to something that contrasts with white... (anything in the world)
Put a border around the white name

Either is fine by me, but please do one.

I was moaning about the same thing before I got my old GPU running again, seems that there IS a border but it's only active with the higher graphics settings.

That'd be it. I'm running in DX7. I think us that prefer the lower graphics should get equal attention...

Oh I fully agree, I was quite annoyed at it myself  Just pointed out that it's there, just not working.

Looks more like a beige to me, let me get a SS up.

Whoa!! I just noticed this! Look at the body of water right below Wercheg! It's totally Michigan-shaped!

Here's a quick fix for you until it's changed. The color they actually use is a light beige very similar to the forum color, but it appears differently in game.

1. Go into factions.txt in your Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\Native folder
2. search for "vaegir"
3. It should come to this

4. the "xxxxxxx" is where you'll put a decimal code in for the color you want to use. I chose 3478348 which is a nice dark purple. If you don't want to choose your own color feel free to use 3478348 to save yourself some time.
5. To find a hex code for any color go here http://houseof3d.com/pete/applets/tools/colors/
6. To convert it to dec go here http://flor.nl/dec2hex.html . Just enter in the hex code and click anywhere, and it will give you the corresponding dec code
7. Take that dec code and put it where "xxxxxxx" is in the factions.txt file.
8 Sorry, needs a new game to work.

Ask questions if you have them.

I tried that, but it's still the same color...

I have like 4 versions installed, though. Thanks for that. I'm sure it'll work once I figure out what version I'm running!

really? I see no reason why this wouldn't work for you on any release. There must be something you're doing wrong. Are you sure you're putting the dec code in factions.txt and not a hex code?

EDIT: It needs a new game to work, btw
EDIT AGAIN: Sorry, I misread your post, haha. Tell me if it works once you figure out which version you're running.

Why did they change the colour of the Vaegirs from green?

Maybe they thought that the beige was more "woodsy".

It's quite straightforward to change colours, anyway - I'll just edit them myself if they suck.

nice post.

Can you post a screen shot with your color added to it?

Note that all these settings are on high with HDR set to low because I prefer it. So it might look a bit different on your PC

Thank you. It's presumably the same format as M&B, but I hadn't got around to looking it up.

For me, Nords are yellow, Rhodoks are light blue, and Vaegirs are green. Much happier now with them restored where they should be.
