Knight at Arms
Alright, I've been searching and experimenting for the past hour-and-a-half, trying to figure out how to add non-hero- and non-merchant- type units to the map of Zendar center. I put in four new entry points (variation numbers 8,9,10, and 11) in Zendar, then went to the Unofficial Editor. I first tried to add a normal troop (unarmed) to Zendar Center at entry point 8 (this was before I had added the entry points to the map (I was going to add the entry point after adding the character), but I don't think it would have made a difference), and that didn't work. Then, after adding the entry points to the map of Zendar, I tried to add some guy named Marchaud at entry point 8, and the editor program crashed.

So, I have some questions: 1) Is it possible to add non-hero-, non-merchant- type units in a map? 1a) Is it possible to make non-consequential conversation (like the "What are people talking about lately" question to smithies) for these characters? And 2) If it is possible, how do I do either of these?
I could've sworn I saw how to add people in a thread earlier this week, but I can't seem to find it.
Please help this would-be modder?

Make sure you are starting a new game. An added character wont show unless you start over.

For conversations, they arent very complicated. Just take a look at them in conversation.txt then check out the "mod info: conversations" thread. You can probably find a link in the mod resource thread at the top of this page.

Appreciate the help, wanker.
I was restoring an old game, so that was probably the problem.
Will retry now.
Thanks again.

P.S. Is it difficult to add characters? I know Mag7 adds them (right? They don't just replace some other characters with the Magnificent Seven?), so I'm sure it's doable, but does it require a lot of knowledge to do it?

Lol, fair enough.
It's a work in progress, as I work on it sporadically. Every time I get a new idea, I go back and try to make it better. I'm currently working on getting some small talk conversations set up for the characters I've added, to add to the feel.
But, here are the pictures:
The first three are from a previous thread:

For the next seven, dynamic lighting was off, because my graphics card sucks. Thankfully, when I went back and turned it on, it didn't make much of a difference.

I just wish the torches weren't so bright. :???: I'll try to mod that when the mod tools come out, if I can.

Edit: One more cool one I liked.

Really? Well sure, if I can figure out how to get conversations in there (I'm zeroing in on the triggers and the way the files work, but I couldn't figure out what Effidian was saying in this thread: http://forums.taleworlds.com/viewtopic.php?t=1696 ,
and it might've been changed with the new version. Also, the conversation editor doesn't work (it apparently hasn't been updated either), so that's no help.
However, if any of the guys/gals from Mag7 could tell me, I'd be very grateful, as it appears they've added conversations for their heroes.

Whoa, this was all in parentheses.), and if I can figure out what files to upload somewhere (maybe that file repository site), I suppose I could.
I've only been working on Zendar right now, but in due time (and with the advent of the mod tools), who knows, eh?
