Sieging without attacking?

Anyone ever bothered to siege a castle for 30 days or a town for 100 days to see whatever happens?

I did once, I think... The enemy sallied out IIRC. For some reason I can't remember it well.

once. the enemy surrended after 30 something days since they didnt have any food left.

well i did it once on normal mount and blade and nothing hapend i was sieging the castle for like 50 days and there was no drop in troop numbers the castle commanded did not surrender ext..... i think there is no point in waiting it out

haha, i gotta try that! But I guess the vassals are storming at you when you have besieged the castle?

I think you feed 3 soldiers per 1 food unit each 12h. It means for 100 units you will have to have 33.3 food units each 12h and 66.6 food units each 24h. And for castle siege 30*66.6 = 1 998. One inventory slot can hold 50 food max. So for castle siege you have to have 40 slots full of food. Town has 3.3 time more food stores. That means about 133 slots full of food, which is impossible to have in game. I think its just another good idea, but implementation is poor.

some mods, such as Sword of Damocles, have the food supplies greatly decreased, and it takes longer to build back up after a siege.  so you can siege for a couple of weeks, go raid a village, then siege, etc. then you can force a surrender, i think, either that or their are fewer enemy troops that spawn.

Also I like how you can make the enemy castle surrender if you are outnumbering them a lot (saves some men and time)
