How in hell am i supposed to win a siege? The AI is so god damn stupid, that the first noob who climbs the ladder will block EVERY ONE ELSE.
i have a siege running for nearly 2 hours now and still am not able to pass those damn ladders because NPCs blocks them while shooting at each other over 100 meters away.

sieges have always been annoying in this fashion. What you CAN do is to order your men to wait on the ground and go up the ladder first, then tell them to charge. Then just hope that they follow you in.

Okay, to be honest I've yet to do a siege in F&S, but it sounds like you're sending your ranged units up the ladder first... Which is rather foolish. It would be better to have them hold 30 or so paces away from the wall, and send up your infantry first.

If, for some reason sieges have two sets of walls, or something similar, in F&S; that requires your ranged troops to climb onto the first one before engaging, then just have them hold fire until they're at the top, THEN let them shoot.

every single unit gets stuck there, doesnt matter if its ranged or melee (even though most of the "melee" troops seem to have ranged weapons as well -.-). and i can not command units of other lords, only my own so this doesnt help as well.

and no, this is not even close to the "siege issues" in warband.

You can order them to hold fire, that way they'll advance without trying to shoot anything unless you order them otherwise.

Another annoying aspect to sieges is if you let your archers and crossbowmen fire at will they will shoot right into the bulk of your men climbing the ladders and help the enemy with friendly fire. This was a problem in the former games to.

I can't do sieges in the custom battle mode because all of the friendly and non-friendly NPC's spawn together in one big cluster

You could always tell them to stop shooting and go into melee...

no i cant.
this only works for MY soldiers. most of my sieges are with the help of many other lords of the faction i work for. and they dont care about what i yell across the battlefield (i am not the marshal).

if u have superior forces than the defender, use auto resolve, i once join a siege and since all my forces are marksman i order them to stand and shoot but my men fell quickly and the enemies didnt down one man... i saw from some sources that u can poison the well but i havent figured out how to do it

What you can do for your own men to listen to your commands, is tell them to HOLD FIRE, then FOLLOW ME and CHARGE.
They will pick their swords and start moving towards the castle.

Do me a favor and tell me what city this is you're seeing the pathing problem on?  I need to get the scene designers to look at this.

Also, if you can package up a savegame for me -at- that siege it would be very helpful so I can show it to them.. (and go... "SEE!")

I've never had a problem with that. My infantry would always just clear the way for me because they were superior to the enemy's infantry.

to nox
I have seen this problem in all the southern Cities and forts I have sieged.
Good thing i can take on a garrison on my own

Nox do you guys seriously need detailed lists of the cities with path-ing problems?  I've noticed it more on the Crimean cities and in that area, I didn't really see it when I was fighting in Poland (not to say there wasn't a problem there, just that I didn't notice it).  Also some of those towns have open spaces behind the stairs which you (or troops) can fall into with no way out.  Those spaces should either be opened up so there's a way out or just eliminated entirely.
