Sieges and the absence of Loot

My search-fu may not be strong...
Well here is my question.
In the old Mount and blade when we took cities and castles I remember we did get a loot window from all the enemies that we killed during the siege.
However why on earth do I/we not get anything after we take a city/castle?
I've noticed this trend (no loot) when I was a vassal (swabia) and helped take a castle with some other lords.
I've noticed this trend (no loot) when I was a merc and helped take a castle with some lords.
I've noticed this trend (no loot) when I was on my own and attacked a castle/town (I got the castle/town, but not any loot).
I've noticed this also happens when I aid a village from a bandit attack.

Is this change a bug/new feature or?
Cause it does not sound that helpful to the players economy not getting any loot (to use or sell).

Enemies do not route during village defenses either, and you don't get an opportunity to capture enemy lords who are raiding the village.

Needless to say, not getting an opportunity to capture the Lord is a pain, especially when you are trying to thin out a faction's lord population and they keep raiding villages.

Indeed after every defeat you must get at least some loot. Lords can escape but losing the ability to loot is a bug.
