I am voting no. The whole basis for Rhagaea's power is that she's the widow of the dead emperor, running things on behalf of Arenicos's blood heir.

It makes zero sense for Rhagaea to be willing to get married, because it would jeopardize her claim to power. She might be willing to let her daughter get married, but that's a different story. She wants someone sensible to marry Ira to be a good influence.

Alternatively, I can be persuaded that Rhagaea can be marriageable but you better be a dang important character before she's willing to marry you.

Not necessarily. Ira is still her daughter, and still the only blood heir, if Rhagaea marries. I agree, though. Marriageable only if you're very important.

This thread has informed me that I cannot marry her. Now I need to rethink my takeover strategy lol

This wouldn't make any sense, just like it was explained in this post:

Appart from that, I'm assuming that there are no other single or widowed leaders in the world, otherwise why wouldn't any other leader be marriable?
Alternatively, it would be damn cool if after you help her reunite the empire and secure her claim, you COULD marry her, but that sounds too cheesy for me.

At swordpoint maybe?

That could work. Makes sense, you could use her to increase the legitimacy of your claim, if just slightly.

You simply cant marry any clan leader, so you cant get any easy fiefs. Hopefully the whole family, clans and diplomacy is enhanced in the future and you become able to join other clans instead of making your own, then struggle from the inside to take it over or inherit it.

You can't takeover through marriage anyway. For example, if you marry a ruler's heir, they move out of their old clan and into your clan -- and therefore they are out of the line of succession.

However, this is probably something that should be fixed in the future in my opinion. Marrying an heir SHOULD be a viable takeover strategy. At the very least, it shouldn't disinherit the heir.

edit: Also worth noting that in lords.xml, Rhagaea was once supposed to have a consort but he's been commented out and no longer exists. But that could also be a relic from a much earlier origin for Rhagaea -- the files once had Rhagaea as the old emperor's niece, then she became the daughter of the Padishah, and now she's the daughter of some petty king somewhere (and the Emperor's widow).

Well, with the current game mechanics if you marry someone (and as far i see you cant marry any clan leader, and obviously kingdom leader), this person is moved to your faction.
So i doubt we will ever be able to marry leaders like Rhagaea as sexy as she can be

Yeah, makes no sense to be able to marry any clan leader, unless clans can be randomly generated when a clan gets wiped out. Also, seems like it would make the game to easy to marry clan leaders.

personaly you should be able to marry her if you are powerfull enough but at the same time that should be true for her Daughter too cause if you marry her Daughter you should become the de facto Ruler of the Western Empire and kind of ursurp the Mother as you just took her biggest claim to power away actually thinking about it both is a nice way for Larger story Campaign

If you marry Ira (her daughter) she is just moved to your clan.
Also i started a new game in 1.05, updated to 1.07, and unlike previous version (starting from 1.00) i do not see any relatives for Rhagaea anymore in the ingame encyclopedia (and vice versa, same for Ira and her siblings...). But you receive the relation boost with Ira's family still.

I don't really see the point in marrying anyone at the moment other than to get a free companion.

What does it even do? Raise relations with the clan? Does raising relations even do anything?

Marrying into a clan should have an immediate boost to renown based on the level of said clan. Marrying into a ruling family should boost relations all the way to the next level at least, and probably also the one after that.

I was hoping there would be some sort of special mechanic that would happen if you married Ira, but that doesn't seem to be the case and I doubt it will anytime soon.

Ira was always bugged and mistakenly not included as Rhagaea's daughter. They still haven't fixed it.

I meant when you check Rhagaea in the encyclopedia (at least in my game) you see none of her child (not just Ira, and you dont see also her deceased husband), unlike what i could see before 1.05.

Ira wasn't listed as a child even in 1.00. Are you sure you didn't have a mod that fixed that?

And her deceased husband Arenicos has NEVER been in the files.

Would be nice if there's an option to marry her if you go for the route of saving the Empire given by Istiana.

As long as you're powerful enough with your own empire, after you cleared out other empires, you could get the option to marry her and unify the realm without having to annihilate her faction. This would make the most sense, and fit with the lore of the game.

What's with the community suddenly wanking to this girl? Get a grip people lmao
