Firearrows were abjectly pathetic; to say they were arrows with firecrackers on them would be a compliment. Objectively inferior to something like Greek fire. And the Fire-lances were little better more useful as psychological weapons that actually being deadly or effective.
The naval bombs were also objectively worthless and useless compared to Greek fire, which was principally a naval weapon, and the 'explosive' were over sized firecrackers with more smoke and 'bang' than any actual deadly 'boom'. Amazing how the Chinese had it ALL to themselves for centuries and could do so little and the moment the rest of the world gets its hand on the stuff they revolutionize the powder itself and the technology surrounding it.
