Shooting several bolts/arrows

Is there any way to make:

a/ a bow with several strings. So you can shoot two or three arrows at the same time. I don't know if it's realistic but this is a fantasy game and would make a cool weapon for high level characters.

b/ repeater crossbows. Crossbows with several barrels. You shoot one bolt with one click then can click again without reloading until you run out of arrows. Reloading would take longer. This would be an awesome weapon for mounted bowmen.

Is this possible with Eferdian's editor?

(I can't check, I must download it again)

How would you be able to handle a bow with 3 strings? :o The "repeater crossbow" sounds already more reasonable. Don't know if it is possible though.

Umm, I wasn't aware this game was That fantasy...

In regards to repeating crossbows, historically the Italians came up with one involving a crank which drew back the string, dropped a bolt into place, and automatically released the string. It meant you could shoot a Lot of bolts, very quickly, but the accuracy was hideous.

With the editor I made the crossbow quantity go from 1 to 10.So I could shot 10 times from horse back with out reloading.

Like powerg8 said, you can make repeater crossbows by changing the quantity field. It might work with bows, but probably not. Try it and tell us what happens.

Chinese or Koreans had one too. Cho Nuk something or another like that. Have no idea which came first. >.>

I actually thought about making a model of one of those.

It seems to me that making a bow fire multiple arrows would be alot more difficult. If you could change the amount that was fired the three arrows would still follow the same path so it would be as if you were merely doing 3x as much damage. which would be alot easier to achieve via other means.

scipio is right...

I DO want to test out that "Change-the-quantity" thing, and make a crossbow that does 255 dmg, and lets you fire 255 times before reloading..

OMG

I could make a... a...

a something-like-a GUN!!!

I did that once for the hell of it, and made a little u83r mod with stuff I wanted to test. Except for the reload on horse part, xbows like that are unbelievably uber pwnage. You can tap the fire button randomly 100 times when enemies are vaguely near you and they will all simply DIE.

Yeah, too bad your accuracy goes to ****e when you do click fast.

I need to find a way to make that go like this -

More consecutive (sp?) clicks makes the accuracy go down -over time-

You know... how.. like.. if you fire 3 rounds straight, you're accuracy wont be as bad as if you fired 30 rounds straight

Right now, I made a crossbow, named it "Assault Rifle" just for kicks, and it can fire 30 rounds of "Ammunition" before needing to reload.

Now I got to thinking... you know what? It would be easier, and probably a bit more realistic, if I made that an M1 Garand. So... I renamed the Assault Rifle to M1 Garand, changed the speed and such, changed the "quantity" to 8, modified the ammunition a bit, and voila.

I have a pretty good M1 Garand, except for the fact that, after every 8 shots, you shove the barrel in to the ground and pull back on the sights, or something.

Oh, and that it almost looks like a crossbow...

I was wondering..

can you make certain parts of a skin transparent? For example, make the arms on a crossbow transparent?

If you can, I want somebody to skin a crossbow to look like an M1 Garand.

Then skin another crossbow to look like the German Kar 98.

THEN skin a grey trenchcoat, with a swastika on the arm.

and, dont forget to skin some tan G.I. uniforms, with the U.S. flag on the arm!

but you know what? We need some black combat boots for those nazis as well.

and what kind of soldier doesnt have a helmet? Reskin the Kettle Helm to look like a WWII-era helmet! Weee!

We have the makings of a very nice WWII mod!

Lol orion...

You can change the sound's of crossbow's to M1 Garand very easily atleast.

Which would be odd if it still looked like a crossbow.

When the mod tools come out I'll give you my arquebus model if you want something a bit more rifle like. It doesn't really look like a garand, but it's a lot closer than a crossbow.

I think it'd be kind of cool if you could shoot 2 or 3 arrows at once with your bow... basically would make it unaimable, but good for shooting into crowds. Not too practical though.
