Shogun: TW - messy graphics

Users who are viewing this thread

Short. I just installed Shogun: Total War, just to discover this. The game is completely unplayable.

Anyone know why it's like that?

I have geforce 2 mx/mx 400 and I'm pretty sure I have the latest drivers. I mean, I had to dload them to get Mount & Blade to work. The last time I played Shogun was before I formatted and with some older drivers and it worked fine.

what are the requirements for the game?

maybe your geforce is on it's last legs (it is a rather old card) and it's dying is forming oddities and artifacts to appear.

or,

have you overclocked it too much or something?

could be total war, though. reinstall? patch?

fall back to old drivers?

who can tell with pcs?!

Yup. The landscape tears from one place and another when I move around.

Geforce 2 sure is old, but Shogun: TW is older, as I recall. Even if it isn't, the game used to work fine with my older drivers.

EDIT: I haven't overclocked anything. I know nothing of that stuff. And I downloaded the demo just to be sure(The screenshot is from the demo) and it's all the same.

It's either Shogun or M&B, yeah. You could switch drivers all the time, but that would be a pain I suppose.

...If you come to the TotalWar.com forums, "we" can help you there. And if you have some questions, feel free to PM me.

Try getting the expension or the gold (I believe it was called like that) version. If it's not a driver issue, it's probably a game issue. The game runs fine on my machine. (Radeon 9600pro, winxp and other fancy new stuff)
