Ships, and walking on water

Hi

I was bored and was screwing around with the roots of the yggdrasl mod and decided to see if I could do a ship model. I got it all done and replaced the longship with my ship, but now my people are sunk halfway up the chest into the deckand sound like their walking on water. I have a proper col mesh, but it dont seem to work.

Help, please?
 
Are you using BRFedit or openBRF to import the col mesh? And did you reference the col mesh correctly in module_scene_props?
 
open brf. And I shouldn't have to reference the col mesh in the py file as I am simply swapping out my ship and mesh for the ship and mesh already in the mod.

So I assume the new mesh and col mesh have the same name as the old ones you're replacing correct?

When you imported the the col mesh did you invert the normals? Which version of openBRF are you using?
 
No, I didn't invert the normals. What does that mean? Give me a sec to check which version, it's on my other comp.
 
With the older versions you need to invert your normals (which direction the polygon is facing) in order for your col meshes to work properly, version 0.0.27b is supposed to enable you to import your col meshes without needing to invert them. I suggest you download and use the latest version... or you can also use 0.026 if you want, you'll only need to invert the col mesh's normals (if I'm not mistaken you can do this within openBRF too).
 
So, right now to get it working I have to use the translation menu, right? Would you know which and how much?

No, not the translation menu. That's for orientation of your mesh/col mesh. In the col tab, select your col mesh and there should be a field labeled "Flags". If it's 0, set it to -1. If it's -1, try to set it to 0 instead. If neither works, (edit: nope, that wasn't it either, my bad) you'll have to invert your normals in your 3D modeling app or use 0.027b to reimport (not copy!) your col mesh.
 
I cant see a field labeled flags. Ah, well, I'll download the newer version tomorrow and reimport the col mesh.
