Ships and scene editor

Hey was just trying to get the ships to work in the scene editor, however no such luck.
anyone know how to get the ships to be controllable from a custom map?

I'm talking about multilayer scene editing.
I wish to add a ship to a custom map however i have no idea on how to make it actually function like a ship

well i can make it float that's about it. 

Any possible way i can make it controllable?
