Shields up!

I know this is embarrassing but I have a hard time figuring out the shield stats.
What exactly does the "resistance" do?  It seems sometimes really expensive shields have worse stats than cheaper ones. Could somebody explain, thanks.

Ehhm, if I recall correctly then shield "hit points" are comparable to your hitpoints and shield resistance is basically the shields' armour. If someone hits your shield for fifty damage and you have a shield with resistance twenty then the shield loses thirty of its hitpoints.

It's totally normal in that game.

i think resistance also affects arrow penetration
