Shield Skill

Okay..quick question: The shield skill claims that it reduces damage to your shield by 25%... but wouldn't that mean that if you have four ranks in the skill.. that your damage is reduced 100% -- i.e. the shield never sustains damage?

Of course,.. that's now how it happens, because my shield still takes damage with a shield skill of 5.

So.. what does the skill -actually- do? Or does it simply cease to function after 2 or 3 ranks..?

i've never bothered with this skill, but the only thing i can think of, is every 25% that gets reduced comes off the new damage. For example, if I have 100 dollars, and i keep taking away 20%, i'm never gonna get down to 0 dollars and 0 cents. It doesn't look at how much damage you would have taken with no shield skill, and then take off 25% of the damage for each point into the skill that you have.

This is just a guess, I have no idea how it really works because i've never bothered investing in this skill. This is simply speculation.

Homie's got it...a typical damage of 30 to the shield goes:

Lvl 1: 22.5
Lvl 2: 17
Lvl 3: 12.5
Lvl 4: 9.5
Lvl 5: 7 damage, etc etc.

So it'd probably not much use after level 2 or so.
