I have a LARGE Pavise shield, when I arm my bow /Arrows, my shield goes on my back. Then when I'm riding away from the enemy, who shoot at me with arrows, all the arrows hit me in my back, ignoring the LARGE shield !! BUG !

Please fix this.

AW.

I've been informed that there is no bug here. The shields on the back provide 75% damage reduction. It works.

No it doesn't, i have a bloody back with arrows sticking out of it .. OUCHIE!

If shields can stop arrows frontally then it should also stop them from the rear.

He's right, they don't
They have a CHANCE to block the damage, and it increases with a crossbow perk, but it's still a shield.
Not like it magically can't stop incoming projectiles because it's on your back and not your arm.

On the back it´s closer to the body. On the arm it´s further away. An arrow can go throu a shield a few inches. On the back it means in the flesh. On the arm it´s in the air.
In theory if you have on the arm gets a few arrows, you should get damage when placing it on the back again.
Shields are overrated as hell in the game. Once it´s hit with a javelin, unless it´s a ground standing shield it would become too heavy to use. It was usually the point with javelins and pilum, to make the opponets shield too heavy.
Just imagine the strenght of the soldier holding a shield looking like a porcupine. Even Eddie Hall would struggle.

Oh! that's a weak excuse. Shield pressed against the back, i think not. Probably bouncing around, inches off the back. There goes your argument.

Some ancient javelin skirmishers would throw their shield onto their back (attached via a leather cord around the neck) when running away from the enemy, to catch all missiles ! and protect the bearer. This was a tactic !

On the khuzait steel sheild yes. Those are made so arrows bounces off. But the flat ones. Thats just an arrow catcher. And some will penitrate.

Must have been an easy enemy. Just grab the shield and strangle them. From roman times javalin and pilum was to make the sheild to heavy to wield.
