Shield bashing. Has this been thought about?

Firstly, I'd like to apologize if this has already been discussed and my post doesn't contribute anything worthwhile. Hopefully you'll find something of merit.

I recently tried the M&B demo, and will be purchasing a full license shortly. It's really a remarkable product.

However, there seems to be something of a lack of defensive options. Attacking is excellent, but all defense seems to be is outright avoiding attacks, and the basic block.

I would suggest a (not overpowered) 'shield bash' ability. Implemented in such a way it didn't become an offensive maneuver, but still had some worthwhile effect defending one's self.

Many games implement attacks with the shield as a knockdown or long stun, but that method doesn't seem realistic enough for M&B..
What about a very short (Under half a second) stun, interruption of any attacks, and damage to the shield? T
his would allow the player to get a step or so back, or an attack on another enemy if pressed by multiple foes, and in some situations time to return to a block before the enemy they struck finished a counter attack. The short stun and lack of damage would prevent it from being used offensively, and the damage dealt to the shield would keep it used sparingly.

Welcome to the forums! Your opinion/suggestion is welcomed, please be aware of the semi-effective search feature and stickies.

Don't worry, lots of people make the same mistake, day after day after day after day... and so on...

How is it possible to look for stickies and not find them? They're right there.

Actually the stickies are very easy to miss, the look seperated from the rest of the threads (and not in a good way), they're not bold, and they contain too many words for newcomers to read.

Oy vey. They're at the top of the page, they say "Sticky" (Which is in bold) and they have that splashy exclamation mark thingy next to them. What more do you want, flashing neon lights?
