Shattered Horizon

Has anyone else played this? It looks pretty awesome, and the previews gave me an Ender's Game boner. So, is it worth the buy?

Tried to play it on a Steam Free Weekend, but its very specific with its graphics requirements. Never got it to work, anyways, I have heard that it was average, but very unique. A good premise ruined by a limited number of maps and modes (4 maps, now 8, 3 modes)  At release, there was only one weapon (Assault Rifle). Apparently there are a few more now. The complete freedom in movement makes the gameplay different from most other online shooters.

Edit: I wouldn't personally buy it until I have tried it, so I would wait to see if it gets another free weekend on Steam. If you decide to get it, make sure you meet all the requirements.

The requirements is what scares me. I have an HD 5670, which isn't exactly top of the line. I was hoping if I roll with medium/low settings I can work with 40+ FPS.

Then I would definately wait and hope that it gets another free weekend (Or a demo gets released.) Now, I don't have the best comp in the world, (Would give specifics but I'm away from the computer and I'm drawing a blank) but its goodenough to play most modern games at least high to medium graphics. But all I got from SH was a black screen. Sounds and all that fun stuff would go on, but no graphics. Might've been a corrupted game download or what not, who knows.

SH is about as much 'standard arena shooter fare' as Mount&Blade is 'standard hack n slash fare'.

Problem is it's mostly dead these days. There's about one server active at a time...
I wish there was a sequel that was a bit more popular because SH is unique and once it's dead there's no way to get that experience any more :/

I just said "**** it." and bought it. I have the settings super low, but it runs really smooth. So far, it's pretty ******** awesome.

EDIT: It actually is running smooth with max resolution, too. Putting on shaders makes it a little laggy, though.

Sorry for the double post but I have 3 guest passes. So if anyone is iffy about the game, just PM me your email or steam ID and I'll send it over.

Well, I have it, never play it much though, whenever it was active, it was pretty ****ing awesome, but the learning curve is really steep, and the old Beta guys just owned everyone. Get's a little frustrating after a while.

Practice makes perfect. The hardest part of the learning curve is vertigo, but with a little bit of practice you'll be assaulting groups of enemies upside-down.

Best part right now is boost rushing a bunch of guys on a point with an SMG.

Sure, you'll die, but if you're quick, you'll take at least three guys with you. And it's such a rush.

My problem is not being able to turn around and kill whoever is shooting at me because I have no idea where the **** they are.

Well, yeah, but you'll get used to it.

Funny thing is how people don't look up much when they're walking on a surface. One time I charged at a point from above and stabbed to death three guys. Saved the point!
