Sharing my happy M&B related antics...

Ok so I've been playing the 'free download' version for some time, finally i thought hell, this is too much fun, I have to get this, the idea being spurred on because a friend I'd introduced to the game had also announced they would be looking to get a copy.

So, I popped into my local Game store, and asked the chap behind the counter "got any Mount and Blade" ? he promptly found they had 3 in stock and whizzed off to aide other customers. Only brief moment later I'd found they were in the section marked 2 for £15, so happily grabbed two copies. Saving both myself and my buddy a few quid. I joyfully joined the line for the tills and when asked "can I help" sauntered jauntily to the counter. The young lass serving me grabbed the box, and immediately stated "ooh good choice" a brief conversation later and it turns out she'd also been enjoying the game! We bantered a little about which faction we're with and our respective army styles, and then business is business. I paid and left.

The whole thing left me in a bemused yet happy state, I had a full copy of M&B to go home with and the knowledge I had an extra copy for my pal AAAAaaand the fact that the lass serving was also a player!

OH MY GOD how good is this game!?!?

Incidentally... when mount and blade goes multiplayer, lan parties are gonna be kick ass!

That's pretty neat! I'm pretty surprised that you met someone who's actually heard of the game; usually when I try to spread the word, people say "mountain blade? That sounds lame."

Now, it all boils down to one question: was the lass physically appealing?

Thats what I was thinking? Was she the usual bored blonde?

Well, I found that about 4 people in my little village enjoy playing it, but they won't be buying the full one yet, until multi comes out.

Go back to that shop, plunder all the riches within, then take that woman back to your "Longship".

That sounds cool, I haven't had good service at my nearest game store (Gamestop) in....well I have never had good service at gamestop, whenever I buy used the games do not work and the staff are always creepy looking and....."snarky, yeah snarky its a word, google that ****"

she was quite cute, about 19/20 maybe tomboyish short brunette hair and a nice smile... she explained she had been playing using the Khergits...

the more you know people, the more you know.

P.S not sure my GF would like to see me posting about how cute the Game shop assistant was...

Oh, I'm sure she won't appreciate it .

yep, same **** happens with me. It`s pretty frustrating. And it`s such a goddamn good game

I get that all the time too.

Lately though, I've actually been meeting people who at least "know of" M&B, maybe it's been gaining some momentum.
Also, awesome story, Ku.

That is so fekin' awesome it's beyond awesomeness!
This thread has seriously made my day!
Now all I need to do is get some appropriate attire for that LAN party you were speaking of...
Pity I'm allergic to horses or that would be a great way to make an entrance. Full armour plus horse!
