Sharing games on Steam

Can you play your games on different computers if you have them installed? (I wouldn't know, I only have one computer to play games).
If so, you could play offline on one of them, put the other on online, and your friends can play as well. I don't really see how they would go around that.

You can do that for games you own. Presumably, they would disallow the launching of shared games while in offline mode. It would take a fake Steam dll to trick the game's exe into running.

That would be ridiculous... As soon as you're without internet for a while, you can't play the games you share with a friend.

You can play as is, but it has serious potential to be inconvenient not to pay.

That's how my brother and I share games.

And yeah, I totally need to have more games to play instead of checking out some one the hundred and so that I already have in my Steam library and have basically never touched.

And all of my friends have fewer games than I do. And none of them has something I don't have except ****ing Empire Total War.
