Settlements beside Custow/Charfield higher than camp?

Hi guys, one thing that has really annoyed me with this unique mod is that there are only Custow and Charfield.. How can I set up settlements to start at a higher level?  This would lead to creating all sorts of scenarios to amuse myself.
Also, while I have your attention, how can I change the resource tick timer? Little but visible progress is more reassuring lol.

Open up module_scripts and search for "#Custow init", without the parenthesis. You can see how Custow was set to be a Castle town. Copy those lines and modify them for how you want to setup one of the other settlements. You just need to know the party id of the settlement you want to setup. Those can be found in module_parties at the bottom. You can set as many of the settlements up as you want in any way that you want. For instance, in my conversion of CS, I plan to have new games start with at least one of each type of settlement, but still have the vast majority start out as camps.
 
Ok thanks, but where exactly is "module_scripts"? I've looked all through it, and its definitely not just "scripts" either. I guess it will be in source code, so I'll download now

Edit: Yup, its all there. I guess I'm going to have to learn about the module system now 'sigh'..

If you enable cheats ingame, you can add peasants and such, or increase the current economy or military levels, from the Edit settlements option when you visit a settlement.
 
One thing about factions:
For a settlement with maximum upgrades (e2m2) to create a new faction it needs a leader, to get a leader it needs a hero with a good relation (50) with the settlement.
Those in Custow already start with a high relation (49) so that faction gets an early start. To get other factions to start you either need time or you need to change the related triggers (look in module_triggers.py for #heroes creation.
