Hey!

Can u send me server files for dedicated server+)) I want make my own server, but i haven`t needed files:sad:
 
I dont have the files but will your computer be able to handle it and will the server be on all day and all night 24/7
 
Well, i wanna start the server in time what i need. But, mod used WSE mod and it`s needed for server. For example, http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,217114.0.html deluge mod used WSE and put files to dedicated server.
When i start .bat files i have a error 13 or other. In game i can`t all admin options (it`s not wark). I think. for server need WSE and other files without txt and .bat
 
Sorry for not answering before, but for a dedicated server you should first of all make sure that the WSE version you use is 2.5.2 or newer, so that all the new commands are used properly. If you have error message despite using the newest version it might be because of the configurations as for example using native factions and the like. I will see if we can get a sample setup for that purpose soon, that should clear things out.

Make sure to start the server with the WSE version 2.5.2 or newer. If you are unsure about the details: You will have to do it via the WSELoader_Server so all the enhanced scripting can be used. If there are any problems, just write about it, but good luck otherwise!
 
On the hosting-server, the server can be seen, but the version does not recognize what to do? :sad:

It shows the same message for me, allegedly the server was running a warband patch 0.0000. Seeing that having a lower WSE version than the server leads to a message saying the server was running a warband patch version 9.99-something, I suspect that the Rus server does either run on the wrong version of WSE or doesn't use the WSE at all yet.

If the server is not rented the owner should really run through the WSELoaderServer.exe and not with the native dedicated server exe. Also make sure to use WSE version 2.5.2 or newer. If you can not get it to start Vikingr with that WSELoaderServer, just write about it.
 
Noy, i only bought server. DGH not set the path to the WSE

Hm the problem is that the server has to be started through the WSE, and you can probably not do that yourself. You could try to contact the hosting company and ask if they can set up the server to use it, but if it is as you say:

Then it might be that you just can not host Vikingr on that server  :???:
 
The Fyrningums hosting company is called jestservers, but I think most of their servers are based in Germany, so that for russian players the ping would not be better than on the FenrirSkogr.

I hope you can get a refund from the first hosting company in case you paid anything, and if you think about renting a new one from jestservers you should make sure to carefully consider everything. It might be that they have servers located in eastern europe too, but I am not sure. In any case they will be able to host with the WSE though.

Why create a second server? It will not be filled and will drain out the official server of which people have donated money.

I think Moecker & Barabas have a larger server at their disposal for community events from perhaps one of the Deluge chaps? Regarding the dedicated siege server, I would rather see the community on one server than split into two, three or four. The problem with popularity, I think, is that Vikingr 'scares' off those looking for an easy fight. It's not an easy multiplayer module to jump into, combat is deadly and armour is scant. This is exacerbated by the dedicated Vikingr group whom, I dare say, I ****ing spectacular in demonstrating how deadly combat is. Can you not imagine the frustration a newbie would find against fighting Eadric or Bjorn? (No offence chaps, just pointing out your sword-arms!) Part of me is almost suggesting some kind of rookie workshop but I'm not sure how successful that would be, not to mention time-consuming. Perhaps have the established clans set up shop and accommodate newer players under the rank & file (but not strictly a member) to demonstrate how the spear is thrust and the shield is held. Biggest problem is not in learning how to fight in Vikingr with weapons but in learning how to fight on the larger scale. Too many newer players suffer from the "Ohhh! HORSE MUST CHASE WITH SEAX" mentality, or fail to take a weapon sensible for the situation. Big shiny dane-axe that the new player cannot block with or a more sensible shield and spear for the cavalry situation? Yeah, we've all seen it.

As far as I can see; Vikingr needs advertising in the relevant places where the time period is accepted, encouraged and embraced. It's no good plugging to musket-suckers and black powder snorters; Vikingr is a little too visceral for the majority. Support from TaleWorlds would have been nice but I guess they're too busy doing the above activities now.
