It is quite simple do you think a server side option to force 1st person view on server, if admin decide it to be so, would be nice to have ?

Could be a third person one option also, but I admit I don't see any real use for third person force since it doesn't have the awareness disadvantage of first person.

Feel free to describe your opinion more.

I'd say more options won't do any harm, but I probably wouldn't play on a forced 1st person server. I don't think I'll vote, I'm against forced first person, but I support giving admins the choice.

I don't think so, first person as it is now sucks badly and only serves some purpose for ease of precision shooting while in tightly-knit circular-type formation such as ring or square or simillar difficult-to-aim situations. Definitely sucks at anything else. And at anything that involves moving around.

I would not like to force it. Nonetheless i use it in certain situations (on the horseback for example), finding it very very useful in such moments!

Never asked for it to be the normal thing. Just has one of the many option that should be able to be set by server admin.

Would just become the norn is most people would prefer to stick to 1st person which is quite unlikely considering how I see people move during fight. (from my point of view I see a lot of people do maneuver that could easily leave you wide open in first person but which much wider third person view can let you do safely)

A realism/hardcore mode?
Hell yes.
Problem is that FP isn't more realistic than TP as it is now. Your field of view is much more narrow than IRL, and your screen does not filter out headbopping like your brain does IRL. On both these area's, third person offers a more realistic alternative. The only thing more realistic about first person is, obviously, the point where you are looking from. But from a pragmatic POV, first person offers handicaps you wouldn't have IRL, which are not present in third person.

Agree with the Narrator. Third person simulates things that are impossible or hard to simulate in first person.

As a way to counter looking around corners unrealistically, would it be possible to grey out (or possibly show anything but men and horses) the areas that are not in line of sight with the character's head?

No, I learnt to play this game in 3rd person and I am used to it. Third person is a standard setting in M&B. I dont want this option(eventhough I'm an admin myself) and I would never play on a server that forces 1st person.
If you do not like the 'limitations' that 1st person present you with, you should ask the Devs to improve that PoV or learn to play in 3rd instead of trying to force me to play in your perspective. How would you like it if I proposed a serverside option to force 3rd person? You wouldnt like it at all.

What you said prove that you didn't even read for I said there could be a 3rd person force, I just said I don't see the point to it since it doesn't have the awareness disadvantage of first person.

Second never said it was forced everywhere I said an option for server admin to be able to force it if so they want, and since most people play in 3rd person this will never be the majority of server. Just don't play on that server or don't turn that option on on your own server.

Third I very well know how to play in 3rd person (would actually score better in 3rd person), just prefer the challenge of 1st person, since it force me into what I find  to be more realistic fencing (in third person it tend to be damn too easy to turn and spin around target since of the greater visual awareness). Nothing make me prouder then a pass by kidney slash then turning around to parry a previsible swipe counter attack that I actually never saw since in first person, cause then I know then I readed the person well before my attack, the 3rd person would ruin that since I would actually see the attack comming.

True that the view by itself it no more realistic then 3rd person but I find it force into more realitic fencing maneuver, since you cannot see on all side at same time. I do also use sound to help me a little also, too bad my 5.1 surround headset died, forced into my old stereo speaker until I buy new one.

Giving server-hosts more control and options to personalize a games is something I'm altogether for.

Besides, I'm sure that as the majority here have already stated they wouldn't play on such a server, the majority of servers would leave first person mode optional.

True but for some reason some of the people seem to dislike the idea of having choice that disagree with their view, even when it got no influence in their own yards. If you don't like the menu of a restaurant you simply don't eat there, no one force you to eat there (except maybe a wife that really like that restaurant =p).

The difference between a multiplayer PC game, and a split-screen multiplayer console game, that last example.

Funny, I have been using it since I started playing Mount and Blade as well as warband...and I am an infantryman.

As others have said, more options are better....

....but realistically I doubt such servers are going to be very popular outside a niche audience.  I was shocked at how few people use 1st person. Since my time in warband (with the first closed beta) I would have to say less than two dozen people use 1st person (for melee combat anyway).  I originally thought I was part of the majority, but found out I was very much a minority.
