Seriously when is the next update?

I do wonder what TW is doing, earning all that money from Bannerlord and the conversion rate to lira working in their favour must mean they're having a HUGE war chest at this point. And yet complete radio silence !

While i agree with what you are saying its almost impossible to compare studios to Larian because frankly they've set the bar so high practically no one can compete with them. Their love of making quality games with the best characters and stories is second to none. But yes the comms situation at TW is without a doubt one of the worst I've ever seen from a gaming company
At this point, you only pray that we get some kind of holy omen for this game otherwise, I don't see this game's future going so far and it the end of august now so, you know what to expect.

I completely understand the frustration with the lack of communication. It's tough to stay engaged when updates feel so sporadic, especially given the success of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. While I appreciate that development takes time, a bit more transparency would go a long way. Even just a roadmap or a small teaser could keep the community's interest alive. Let's hope we hear something soon—fingers crossed that the wait will be worth it!

The game is sadly diying ,mods are saving it but that's it.
Workhops aren't well balanced ,mercs are mostly useless or not good enough to justify their prices , diplomacy is extremly basic ,buildings and villages are short term sighted ,few and their impact are mostly negligible . The smithing option is amazing but completly unbalanced . Villages can't be upgraded or interact with from a defensive or economic point of wiew.
This game as an incredible potential but i have no clue how they are so slow ro realize updates with so few content...
Same for the roadmap ,non-existant .
same for the communication, we do not know IF there ll be updates ,when ,about what ,if dlc are coming ,or not and what they want/can fix or don't wanna or can't.
I hope they at least tell us what their wiew of the future of the game is or the studio ll just die slowly...

Your concerns are valid, and they echo the frustrations of many players who have invested their time and passion into this game. It’s disheartening to witness a title with such immense potential falter in the critical areas that could make it a truly remarkable experience.

Mods, while often a saving grace for many games, should not be the sole lifeline. Relying too heavily on community-driven content tends to expose the cracks in the core game design, particularly when the developers fall short in delivering consistent updates or addressing key issues. As you pointed out, the game’s balance, especially in workshops and mercenaries, leaves much to be desired. The high prices don’t seem justified, and this has resulted in a frustrating imbalance where players are discouraged from exploring these mechanics because the reward isn’t proportional to the investment. The lack of meaningful diplomacy, an underdeveloped economic system, and short-term thinking in village and building mechanics only add to this problem.

One of the greatest tragedies, however, is the missed potential in mechanics like smithing. It’s an excellent addition in theory, but in practice, it suffers from glaring imbalances that diminish its appeal. Similarly, the absence of village upgrades and defensive interactions feels like a missed opportunity to enrich the gameplay and give players more strategic control over their holdings.

The lack of communication from the developers only deepens the sense of uncertainty. It's frustrating when there’s no clear roadmap or vision for the future, and even more so when the players are left in the dark about upcoming updates, fixes, or the potential for DLC. In the current gaming climate, transparency is key to building trust and maintaining a player base. Without it, the community is left to speculate and, as you've noted, lose hope in both the game and the studio behind it.

It’s not too late for the developers to turn things around, but it will require a more focused effort on balancing core mechanics, improving the game’s systems, and, most importantly, keeping the community informed. If they fail to address these issues, the slow decline you fear may become a reality. Let’s hope they realize this and start making the necessary strides toward a better future for the game and its players.

A very Good Example of a Studio Driven Approach is 'Techland', who at the start of each year, give a guideline for the whole year and they pretty much stick to it too. Yes, the updates might delay like 1-2 weeks, but in the end, it is very much according to the expectation of the people, hence, they result in fulfilling the need of their fanbase. If on TW would take only a step towards this path, I will consider that my prayers have come true!

Honestly i will take a single example = Project Zomboïd. An indi game that i bought in it's first year of realize. It was mediocre but has a great potential . The game have now more than 10 years and is an unique and extremly good game .Devs ,even if some updates take 1 or 2 YEARS to come out they sometimes talk to us(once a month or once every 2/3 months) on what is going on ,what are they working on , what they can't do or take too much time ,what the community wants ,etc.
They build trust with their community and game is now played more and more.
Honestly they are no major rework to do on bannerlord except maybe the AI, the rest is relativly minor and can be done by a relativly small group over the next years . They can also drop 1 or 2 dlcs to make more money on the way.
I say it again ,i have a tiny hope the game ll change directions . As i have many games going to shi* and studio finally listened to the community and making huge updates to fiw the main problems like ww3,pharaoh,Tarkov,The guild3,efz etc...
As you said mods can fix things but not everything and most of people do not play with mods in general , so some fixes are necessary ,sonner or later.

It may be obvious that they are working on something and that something is nothing less than a new "Mount & Blade Online" like "Bannerlord Online" is it very strange that the only mod ever achieved in Warband was achieved in Bannerlord fully functional and with payment systems, and before the game was officially released? or perhaps they sold the rights of the game to those "Russian modders" (Vyacheslav Spirin???? where did he come from?) so they could create Bannerlord Online. suss

You make a solid point about games like Project Zomboid—consistent communication and community engagement have really helped them grow over time, even with slow updates. It’s frustrating to see Bannerlord miss similar opportunities, especially with so much potential still untapped. I agree that the devs need to take a more transparent approach and prioritize balancing the core mechanics. It’s clear that with some thoughtful updates and possibly even DLC, they could turn things around. Hopefully, they won’t let this chance slip away!
