What dll:s we are talking about?

Internal joke

Anyway, I am asking do you release your left click after you finish your attack and switch to block or do you keep on holding it? There are two ways to block and feint. One is a noisy feint where you release the attack button before switching to block to interrupt the attack, it makes the "swoosh" sound with your sword. The other way to feint is called silent feinting, and it is done by changing block directions whilst holding the left mouse button down before releasing the attack. This way there is no "swoosh" between the feints. Both feinting methods have their uses and styles vary but this can also have impact on your current issue, which method do you use?

I use the first method. I used to like that "swoosh" sound.

I want you to try blocking by holding down the left click button and then tapping block directions with rmb, it is a useful skill to learn because it makes it easier to block in a lot of scenarios. If that does not fix your problem, I want you to try these things:

1. Make sure in your launcher that your fps is set to 144 or more. If possible get a monitor with a refresh rate over 60hz, this can have a major impact on your blocking ability, 144hz refresh rate and a low response time would be great.

2. Disable V-Sync. If your game is locked bellow 70 fps you are gonna have a hard time.

2. Your sensitivity should be bordering towards slow, but not too slow. The higher it is the less control you have over your characters movement. Speed of feints is not reliant upon sensitivity, so theres no use for high sensitivity it just gets you killed faster.

3. As others suggested, keep your camera centered. You can move off center for certain moves yes, but the main idea is that if you follow the enemy attack with your camera too much it will leave you exposed on the opposite sides, you will jump around the screen and die quickly. A lot of people keep the camera raised a bit towards the enemies head and follow every attack with the camera too much, when they should be keeping it centered and tilted down. Really experienced blockers can alter these angles, but gotta start somewhere first.

4. If you want to become good at dueling, spend a lot of time on Ludus. A good way to practice blocks is with the bots too, just duel one of them, stand in ground while they attack you and the longer you last the better.

Thanks man, I'll try these. There is still good people around the community. And yeah, I think the FPS was an issue here.

Blocking whilst holding down your left click is literally the worst way of going about it.

It's more effective as it lowers transition time between blocks, arguably nerfs offense tho. Still its all situational, best used against heavy feinters imo

Now when I think this, I've done it before. Some people just feint so fast that it happens kind of naturally. But I've not been doing it intentionally and now when I'm trying to do it, it feels awkward. I think it will be my second nature when I get used to it, or maybe not' idk

WRONG. Most of the time my left click is held down; I only really stop holding it when I'm feinting, but even then depending on the feint I sometimes keep my left click held down
