Am I just stupid or is there no way to give everyone an order after selecting one of the separate groups?

How about keeping the 1 infantry, 2 archers, 3 cavalry groups but adding another one for everyone.

In a long battle in which units are all over the places it's a bit messy if you want them all to follow you again.
