Seiging Castles the Loony Toons Way.....

So I just besieged a Sarrinid (sp) castle. I'd tell you which one but I can't seem to sort out all the J's and L's  to get even a close approximation of the real name. Let's just call it Castle Bob. I built my siege tower and waited the requisite 15 minutes for the two people who decided that moving the siege tower toward Bob was a better way to storm the castle than running towards the walls and standing there getting shot to get the tower in position. I tried my hardest to be the first one up there but when my troops see that ramp they lose all control. I was knocked off twice in their rush to breach the walls, however I looked on with fierce pride as they ran up the ramp, approached the castle and.......promptly got stuck because they all tried to get through the same gap at the same time. I thought that maybe the enemy, in their vigorous defense of Bob may have stalled their advance but, alas, they had already killed the enemy troops that were anywhere near them. The only enemy left was their own stupidity and very tiny gap. In the end I had to stand at the base of the tower, order them to follow me, wait as they bravely backed away with their shields raised high to protect themselves from both remaining archers and get out of the damn way. Then I lept onto the ramp, ran up and finally entered the castle. My troops boldly followed me into the breach......and promptly got stuck again. Luckily I was able to dispatch the two remaining defenders and claim the castle.  The only thing missing from this grand adventure was the Benny Hill theme.
 
the new ai has some serious bugs, but in the end it'll end up much better.  Atleast they aren't pushovers, its actually a challange for me to kill an enemy on foot.  They got the advanced stuff down, but basic pathfinding is !#$#ed up so far.
 
I just hate siege towers. When I attack the whole thing is bugged. However when I defend the Attackers are puring in without any stopping on the ramp. ****ing AI messing with ye
 
AI/Pathfinding is a complex issue, i'm sure they rushed a fix for the stuck on ladder/siege tower, now it's better but they get stuck elsewhere!

lol Castle Bob. Say has anybody ever tried to defend Asugan Castle. It's the Khergit castle closet to the Sarranids, to the left of all their territory. Anyway I was working for the Sultanate and they gave it to me. Just when I got it set up with a decent garrison, the entire Khergit Horde besieges me in my castle. Now generally I find the Kerghits to be fish out of water without their horses so I thought it wouldn't be bad. Until they assaulted the castle that was. Ok so it's a multilevel castle ie there is an inner curtin wall around the main castle and then there is a few buildings surronded by their own wall right in front of it. So when the assault starts I'm in the inner bailey and the ladder is in the extreme left corner of the outer bailey. So I and all my troops literally have to jump down onto the outer walls and run around them to get  to the point where the enemy is entering the castle. so needless to say by the time we get there half their army is already inside. needless to say, considering they still had 1500 troops in reserve I got screwed.
