Any thoughts on why we haven't seen much of the seasons/weather system so far? On all the cool stuff they've shown, one thing missing is seasons/rain/snow/frozen water/storms. How close can the release be if we still havent seen much more than one scene with seasons a year or two ago?

Btw sorry if this has been discussed already.. couldnt find a topic. Also im really excited about this feature.

We didn't get any feature list so we dont exactly know how weather changes will actually effect armies but if i am not wrong there was a blog about weathers. So far we got these

Yes i loved those! But imagining they're applying four season variations to all locations.. on map there are about 120 towns, that's 480 scenes that probably need customisation and tweaking, plus all the variation because of the upgradeable castles.. destructible walls. I hope they thought it through and it's not slowing down the development

If i remember correct, in somewhere, devs said that visual effects applying automatically. So no need to make 480 scenes to implement every season.

I hope you're right. Still i find it a bit weird that since those screens appeared (a long ago) we havent seen much variation in weather in the videos or screenshots.. just daytime and summer.

I am wonder how do they show the gradual change of season? It won't be abrupt like instant summer today, spring yesterday right

And it would be cool if army needs to consume more food in the winter, and there would be no production of grain in any season other than autumn (pardon me for my lack of knowledge in farming, in ancient time do they only harvest once in autumn?)

I am curious as well. If this is something that is still being implemented as the blog referenced above is almost two years old, or if this was a work in progress feature that ended up not working out.

I'm quite sure the seasons aren't just cosmetical. Climate in general will affect gameplay in many ways. You can expect armies slowing down in icy terrain, getting their morale reduced, and so on.

I'm sure they know what they're doing in regards to what they want to show and what they don't want to show. If they are planning to show any of what you mentioned in a developer blog then it's reasonable to assume that the feature simply isn't finished or up to the point where they feel comfortable to show it.

Yeah im sure you're right. Im just hoping they'll pull it off and are not gonna leave things out... smoothly changing weather and seasons and their gameplay effects must be huge amount of work, but will add so much to the game and its atmosphere

is there any information about climate? I mean if calradia is in the north hemisphere of its world, the south of calradia should not be affected by winter season.

Yeah it’s a lot of work but I agree that taleworlds are a company that like to put in the effort. We’re very fortunate to have them.

The map is based loosely on the europe + parts of northern africa and middle east. Snow reaches most of this area, so the four seasons would be probably present in most locations (see below)

Yea I was just wondering how deep is the climate system
