Searching for a WWII MMO?

Well. I think I don't have. Yes, I know I need to buy a new computer. I will do it, ,but I it costs more than R$2000 here  :shock:. I know some requirements here for modern games and some other games and see how much it costs.

Sweet jesus!, and here I was complaining about  how my laptop is ****e, and the damn thing isn't even built for gaming.

I'd say with your specs you might get away with running red orchestra ostfront, but only on low settings(although you may be able to run a few settings at medium if you tweak the configs). As for battleground europe it really is no surprise that you couldn't run it, not even mine can and it has a 2ghz dual core processor (rated at 3)  and 3gb of RAM.

I downloaded the game under the name Chan1254(I think it puts it as chan1254 though). PM me if anyone wants to play together.

Try having a 2.66 GHZ Quad Core or 3GHZ Dual Core. Buy a Geforce GTX 250, don't know if Gefvorce 9000 will run it. Ram of 4GB. Good luck, not with the PC, but having money to buy it  :shock:

From memory, the only ones who are allowed to have any capital letters in their tags are RATS (staff).

Had some cracking times on WW2Ol:BE in the past but whilst I remember the epic moments I also remember the latency issues for anyone outside of the US (server is in Texas), the dated visuals & mechanics and so on. The scale and scope of the game is still outstanding but... I've pulled enough 2 hour plus CP guard duty in my time, patrolled entire towns for an evening by myself, spent hours scouring bushes & hedges at forward bases - whilst that game did teach me to be patient, it also wore me down (but then I played it almost every night for over 2 years).

I shall, however, always look back fondly on my antics in the Churchill Mk.VII, especially my Tiger ambush.

Hehehe, chap, chap, chap. I played that game, as I said, for over 2 years. I was there when the new infantry models & textures were introduced but they didn't upgrade the vast majority of the infantry weapons models/textures, nor the weapons, hands & sleeves in first person view. There are loads of tanks & vehicles that haven't had new models or textures in years, the boats have never been updated, majority of the buildings need remodelling & retexturing, the 8.8cm still has it's dodgy 'profile' at long range (as well as inaccurate crew positions on the damage model), the majority of ATGs/gun emplacements have had any form of visual update. The only things that have any new visuals are the infantrymen/paras, American only kit & the German G43.

The game is dead.

They don't have any coder, programmers or graphical artists still working.

They've managed to drive away everyone but the most die hard supporters and the game is a ghost town compared to what it was like 2-3 years ago.

I love the idea and had a lot of fun with the game, but it was terribly executed and it's time is long since passed.

Look, you're just going to have to take it from me that the first person visuals for weapons, hands & sleeves are still really bad, the vehicle visuals/models are creakingly old, the guns are heavily dated and showing tiny pictures that conveniently hide the aging textures really does not help your cause. I've been there chap, I've played the game, I know what it looks like. You might be all fired up about it now (I was when I first played it) but because CRS has such a small development team now & are busy working on their Rapid Assault mini-game, they can't sort out all those old models and textures that are crying out for work to be done upon them.

Oh yes, as for the terrrain, you'll soon get sick of seeing all the same buildings in all the same towns again and again and again and again and again, with the same bunkers & Army Bases, same Control/Command Points, same Forward Bases all the damned time. Lastly, the grass in the game is evil - might look nice and lush in those shots but in reality it fades out after a few yards and this happens;

I still need to see and PLAY it to see if I like or not. But I will buy a new PC too, to play other games.

So it doesn't have same kind of system that Arma has, you know where the player partially clips into the ground if he's prone in grass?
That sucks.  :lol:

But how is the travel system? It's in "Mount&Blade style" where you see icons, or you see your characyer and you need to move him. Also, wiill the travel continue if I leave the game? If no, can I continue from where I stopped?
