Searching a Space Combat Game

Does anyone know if there's some way to set my ship's controls to the mouse? The Number Pad is so terrible for flight.

Buy a joystick.   And yes, you can switch to the mouse.  Click on options, then on the left is a tab saying "mouse enabled" or something similar.  Click it to 'on', and you should be able to use the mouse in combat.  I'm assuming you're talking about FS2 and not Allegiance.

This "Shadow Armada" thing looks interesting but due to problems with my Browser I couldn´t download it! F...!
Again MANY THANX to all!

In Allegiance you can activate the mouse control at any time (if you havent modified the default controls) by pressing the numpad 0 ...

I also feel a bit dissapointed that not much people play FS2 online but it has some reasons like that it was not the original game main purpose, as I see FS2 it is more focused to missions rather than strategic and sector or area fights like in Allegiance, I had the chance to play a couple of games with some guys and they said people play FS2 more for its modded campaigns and stuff than for the online play due to the problems it has (I also think it would be hard for FS2 to keep people interested in the long run, as mere dogfighting can be fun but it can get boring if its the only thing to do after some time).

I started playing Allegiance the first week of January 07 and after a month of playing it regularly its not that hard to get the hand of it, you just have to behave like you would when for example (from the alleg forums) you start a new job, you dont go there challenging, blaming and expecting to be taken serious. You have to work your way up, asking, in a proper manner, when you have doubts and trying to be helpful and this way you will acquire more expierence and also respect from the other workmates (then you can start ordering people what to do )

About the Shadow Armada thing, maybe going to the official webpage could help
http://home.comcast.net/~shadowman131/ShadowArmada.htm Once in the webpage, scroll down to see the download link.

Played FS2 online for the first time ever a few weeks ago (and got the game since it first came out, years ago). Was fun as hell IMO.
Had to play it over hamachi though, as we couldn't get the regular innernet play to work.

And if you use FS2 Open and have the MediaVPs, it comes with co-op versions of all the singleplayer campaign missions.

That's kind of the problem, anytime I ask anything I get a slap on the wrist for being a retarded ape from one of the "senior commanders", usually followed up by an "RTFM" from people of my own status. So I studied the Academy, and realized what I was missing. Now that I know that, hey, when the bomber pilot asks for "MORE NANS", he really isn't ****ing around! And I also learned what "nanning" is, and how to properly "push" (literally ramming into the ass end of your bomber as a scout to give it a good speed boost, but this requires a bit of precision, and you can't push continually, you have to just sort of bump it then move out of the way so the next scout can as well). Apparently, that's not enough to "earn" my respect from the veterans.

EDIT: and I still can't ask anything.

Naning is actualy refering to the Nannite gun thats used to restore ships hull, Wile ramming is part of it the big thing is the nannite gun.

I've learned what I need to know, and I'm sure I couldn't have learned anything from that because I have no idea what you just said.

Would people be interested in a FS2 dogfight?  Allegiance appears to have a much steeper learning curve, so its not like someone could dl it and jump in, unlike FS2.  8-16 people, if possible, sounds like a goodsized fight.

There are also deathmatches in Allegiance, and FS2 is not so ready to go as it is like 2gb+ to download and then configure the network play, unlike allegiance(like 70mb and ready to go) where you could just set up a deathmatch and forget all about the strategics.
